I was thinking about this, if you train chest and back 2 or 3 times a week, would it be beneficial to leave out shoulders ?

Phil said something about this in another post and I have to say, I think a lot of the shoulder problems that people have is because with chest-movements and rows you allready hit them hard and training shoulders separately would be overkill, for the shoulder joints (lots of shoulder injuries around, perhaps there is a connection ?) and the muscles.

I think Poliquin also said something like this.

What do you guys think ?

(remember, I'm talking about training all the bodyparts 2-3 times/week)

Shoulders get hit a lot indirectly from many different "non-shoulder" exercises. While you probably don't need to hit them directly, it's still good to do "something" but not necessarily as much as other body parts.

I've also noticed this. I will hit chest back and legs 2-3 times per week, but shoulders and arms will only get hit once. Also, for shoulders I alternate workouts between presses and laterals. I have found that to help.

Good observation

Dont touch them at all. Try it, youll like it.

Thanks guys, that was what I wanted to hear :)

Are you guys realy working body parts 3 times a week. I can see doing claves, traps, and abs this many times but big body parts...??? I work quads so intense that i am so spent my wife has to pick me up from the gym sometimes and as far as back/chest it is a killer too. Not so bad that my wife has to com eget me but the muscle needs time to rebuild and doing those parts three times a week, where is the rebuild time? Hell maybe that is my problem huh?

What is intense ? Is doing set after set untill you can't stand no more intense ? Ofcourse if you want to do it at a higher frequency you should stop the endless-set training (which you should do even if you arent too imo :p)
