O/T but this damn economy!!!!!!!!

Well just before the holidays i get the gift that keeps on giving....I get laid off! Talk about a stocking stuffer....Man, if i didnt believe in God as much as i do, and if i didnt have so much faith in his love...I would be going crazy right now. But the Lord only gives you what he knows you can handle...but still times are going to be tight for a while...Morg, car note, insurance, bills, etc...wow, and people still believe the economy is strong, and we are fine. I hope with all honesty that no one here has to deal with for the holidays, and if you are hit with news like this, just keep faith, and stay strong!!! CJ

Im sorry to hear about your layoff. Im glad your faith in the lord is strong. Just remember that the "holidays" are not always about bearing tons of gifts to all. Stay strong brother. Things will get better.

Yea I'm in the auto industry, and things are very hard.....Its to the point that I've seen grown men weep...But like was said, one door slams shut, another blows wide open. I'll pray for all my brothas on here going through this also...the road is a rocky one, but hopefully the final destination will be worth the rough ride. CJ

It all has a massive knock on effect. Germany who have a huge slice of the worlds auto exports industry went into ressision yesterday. Its starting to hit the UK and Ireland Hard. I have started to notice gym memberships are down, but its always slow before christmas. But I can see it, all the construction has stoped and allot people are out of work. I have started giving a discount rate for people out of work(always did but never adveritized it). Things will turn around guys, it you are smart enough to have a inteligent converation on here you wont be long finding work. I wish you all the best and hope all works out for christmass. I am going to stop watching the TV and hope things pick up January. Have a good weekend

Well if it makes you feel any better I walked into my p/t job today and I was told they were too slow to use me for awhile. So I got layed off too. I still have my other job, but it's not enough to pay all of the bills and I have a kid on the way. I went and had some signs designed for my truck, went and purchased the last of some things I needed to help my own business get back up and running. And basically at this point fuck it all, and I'm done relying on somebody else's shit to keep money in my wallet. I understand they had to lay me off, what I'm pissed about is they let me drive 40 minutes out there to tell me, rather than letting me save myself a trip and some gas money

Thank you for that brotha, its hard at times to keep strong in ones faith, but when you do...the end results are always amazing, and worth the hard times. some of you may remember that i lost my mother Dec 19th, and that was one of the biggest heart breaks in my personal history. i thought i would end my life over it, but the Lord saved me, and has helped me realize that it was part of his plan. and when i think of all the love my mother had for her Lord, and how much faith she had even days before meeting her maker...i can not tarnish her memory by not having the same faith in his love for all of us. i know we will all see better times. God bless you all, and lets be happy for what we have, and lets say a prayer for those with less. CJ

same here bro, i drive my 45 min to work, do my job for about 2 1/2 hrs, and bam.....i get hit with the news....they take my ID, and escort me to the doors, like a criminal....i understand that they are not to blame for what is going on economy wise, but have a heart. i guess they think, we just canned a bunch of guys, so they might want to take things with them....well i rather my hands burn off, before i take what is not mine. i have too much pride, and respect to do that. but i felt the same way, you could have called us, or gave us the news the previous day. instead they let us wake up early, drive to work, just to tell us to get going. shameful...CJ
