So I do have a doctor appointment set up. But without insurance it is high for the initial visit. So almost 5 months ago I got a UTI. I took antibiotics and it cleared up. However about 2 to 3 days later it came back. I am on my 5th round of antibiotics. Im kind of freaked out. Has anybody experienced this? If so what can it be?

You need to change women bro…

In all seriousness I have an aunt this happened to..she had to be hospitalized because the thought she was having mental episodes..turns out the UTI never went away and she started hallucinating.

They got it fixed and she was in the hospital about a week.

She’s been wheelchair bound her whole life though..paralyzed waist down..so, it’s not like she could easily notice the problem

Do you have prostate issues? BPH? Frequent urination or getting up at night to pee, straining or feeling that you cant fully empty the bladder?

Blood sugar issues and prostate issues can increase UTI frequency and risk

Some things to think about.

Is your prostate enlarged limiting complete emptying of your bladder

You maybe having upj reflux. If so you should get some form of insurance as testing is expensive

Diabetes a possibility?

Are you on jardiance? It increases uti risks

And lastly you may have a resistant or not the common bug growing. E. coli being the most common. If this is the case you need a culture to see which antibiotic will work.

You maybe taking the wrong ones (unless it’s prescribed by a doctor) .

My parents had reoccurring UTI’s. The doctor needs to find the right antibiotic. That bacteria hides well and is stubborn/resistant. Most doctors start you with site specific antibiotics that make it feel like crap for 10 days. I prefer taking a broad spectrum antibiotic to just knock everything out. But these days doctors give those out sparingly and not before trying everything else out there.

Could easily be bladder related if failure to culture.

Get a ‘pee’ strip and check the acidity of your urine. High acidity not good. Sodium carbonate will correct that in time. (Not a one time dose.) Mix it with water and take 4x per day until symptoms disappear. Will not cure a urinary tract infection. Google it for a full explanation. Is OTC. And avoid foods and drinks with high acidity.

Also try Fosfomycim Tromethamine, 30gm one serving should do it if UTI. It’s Rx and very expansive and hard to find but works like nothing else.

Also try Phenazoptridine Hydrochloride. Is OTC. It turns your urine pink so don’t be alarmed and be careful, it will stain your clothing so shelve your tighty whities. Great for pain.

Hope this helps.

Azo is just a symptom masker and not a treatment.

Fosfomycin is best reserved for the very resistant bugs. I wouldn’t recommend using it for garden variety utis

Bite the Bullet and go see an Urologist and pay out of pocket if you have to. Maybe it isn't even a bacterial infection and something different (like a STD, or a Bladder, or a Prostate issue, or something else). The sooner the better, it will most likely only get more worse and more expensive to treat if you wait longer.

Maybe ask if they can help you out with pricing since you are not insured.

Most people don't realize that you often get a better deal paying out of pocket than going through insurance for more routine care.

Thanks for all the advice!!!!!! Much needed

I had UTI issues during and after Bootcamp cause you can only go to the bathroom when they permit you to do so. I took antibiotics during boot camp and it cleared it up temporarily but it came back.

I drank a shit ton of cranberry juice and took echinacea and this cleared it up every time. In my experience holistic remedies worked better than the Pharma measures.

Sometimes a bit of cleansing is needed to remove at least part of the bacterial biofilm and allow the antibiotics to work properly.
Like a two days fasting with at least two gallons of water and several grams of D-Mannose a day.

Just found out that my PSA has went from 0.4 to 2.4! That was from my blood test. So I guess we will see this Friday.

🙁

Have it tested again.

Do not ejaculate for at least two days prior. It can skew the results.

Hope this has a good outcome.

Which antibiotics? The problem is if you stop taking too early, the bacteria can become resistent to future treatment. There's like 4 or so first-line antibiotic treantments for UTI, probably gonna need to see a doctor/specialist.

Don't freak out just yet.

A few years ago my dad had shingles at the same time be got his yearly physical. His PSA had always been normal but all of a sudden it was sky high. He believed it was due to shingles; his doctor said he'd never heard of that.

After his shingles cleared he tested his PSA and free PSA and both were normal. He got a CT scan and the doctor said he had no trace of cancer in his body. His doctor declared him a medical miracle for his ordeal.

Sounds like an std to me. Iv only ever heard women refer to utis. Fucking dirty girls will do that. I’m not joking. A uti will go away on its own. An std probably won’t. My gf periodically gets utis but they never affect me. Usually caused by kidney stones.
