Great interview here with Hany Rambod. Feroce goes into detail on how he fell apart during his first stint as a pro bodybuilder, his ex-wife's issues with drugs that tore their life apart (big bags of Percocets and heroin in the kids' laundry), his years away from bodybuilding and the different jobs he worked, and how Jason Huh got him to come back to the sport.

His truck rants are awesome.
I really admire how he's conquered his demons.

I'll have to watch love his training videos. So many guys on social media try to come off as funny and fail. This guy is naturally hilarious and loves to train

I dont think this dude every really went off. Check out some of his training videos from when he was "off". Hes fucking shredded and still huge.
I dunno, maybe I’m naive but I think he could hold 220 or whatever he was at on 250 test and 4iu GH considering what he built before

Does competitive bodybuilding attract indecisive people?

I wouldn’t say particularly so, no. Why?

I think he means bc of the number of guys that “retire” and come back.

Same as Favre, Jordan, etc. It becomes an identity for people. Their bodies give out but the mental desire/addiction is as strong as ever. I think they struggle to find a new identity. I experienced similar after coming home from Iraq the second time. Being a Marine and in the infantry wasn’t just what I did but who I was. I think many athletes are that way. It actually helped me realizing I wasn’t alone feeling lost.

I think that moreso is due to pursuing other ventures or health complications

It's really tough

When you become maniacally passionate about something, but that something has an expiration date as it's contingent on your body's ability to keep going

We see this in all sorts of athletes, they all have a time line and then Father Time will take over

Just watched his leg training video with hany last night (before they shot this podcast) and he seemed like a good dude in the video.

How recent was the quad tear?

Like 1,5 week ago.

Brutalll.

I think as I get older too I’m trying to stray away from increasing the weight more and pivoting to increased time under tension and really slowing down the movements and getting a good stretch and contraction.

Have had rotator cuff and LCL tears in the past, but never a full on muscle tear thankfully. The idea of missing even a week in the gym is too much
