My grandmother was recently diagnosed with a leaky valve, and they decided she'd need surgery.. I guess they went in with a scope to check it out to see if it could be repaired in a less-invasive manner, but they said she's gonna need open heart surgery instead..
I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about this condition, and the possible risks involved in it with open heart surgery, and the prognosis afterward.. I imagine that they must not think the surgery is that risky, since she is 82 years old.. Or maybe it's just that serious where they feel it's absolutely necessary..
