O/T NEED HELP

This should probably be in the business forum but i feel like more people will see it here in the main forum. I run a restaurant and bar in south jersey. in Smithville to be exact, thats about 10 min outside of atlantic city. Ive tried everything i can think of to generate more business, through advertizing and actually going outside of the restaurant and promoting.i have a great band on wed night, awesome drink specials, Quizzo on tues night and live music every fri and sat. the food is awesome and were dead. the place has been opened for 11 years now and i cant figure out what else i can do. i tried college night, that was a bust and now were promoting SIN (service industry night) because alot of people that work in atlantic city live around here. im at my wits end with what else i can do. any ideas?

word of mouth works the best. what is your competition like? what kind of drink special you running? a bar i used to frequent a good few years ago would do dollar jeager bombs. granted it was in a small shot half jeager half red bull. they also did that with cherry bombs. worked insanely well. maybee find some younger people tell em you will pay em x amount of dollars to go and recruit people. by that i mean go to diffrent bars and talk on there cell. like damn what are the drink specials. it works if you can find the right people to do it. also lastly what advertising are you using exactly?

finally someone in my neck of the woods... its rough around here man.. not many ppl go out these days... exp now that summer is over. were u guys busy this summer??

Why not try something like ladies drink (beer) for free one night? or half price drinks for ladies one night.... that will bring chicks.... when u bring chicks, that brings dudes?? smithville is a very "dead" town isnt it? old style shops right?? im about 20 mins or so north of u near LBI

i got the pickles playing here tonight. $2 bottles, 25 cent wings,$4 captain and 3 olives pints, beat the clock draft specials, i have an awesome ad in the society page

If you're not where the main traffic is then it may be tough. I'd think the only way to get the attention of the main amount of traffic is to do what you did here by posting where the traffic is...in the main forum.
There's a main strip in the beach town I'm in and most other retaurants off the main strip are suffering. The only other thing they haven't done is advertise some how on the main strip. We had a great restaurant, 'Boll Weivel' located just off the strip...The place was awesome. It had multiple huge flat screens, pool tables, great food, decent drink prices etc.....yet every time I went there it was DEAD...maybe 1-3 other people...at the most 5. I had to walk past the restaurants and bars on the main strip to get there and they were all busy. Sorry to say, they did leave town. That's pretty much the only avenue imo at this time.
