O/T What cabel to use?

Staying in MN now and the place im at is using comcast. They renters rang the bill up to like $500 and plan on just cancelling service and going on a pay plan. Well, cant live without basic cabel and high speed interent. Anyone know the cheapest best plan in MN to do? Maybe timewarner? All I need is high speed internet and regular cabel. No phone.

Is Verizon FIOS available? It has an unlimited bandwidth and carries ultra fast interenet, cable and phone service, plus it's a fiber network, not copper in case the area you live in is subject to thugs cutting down and stealing the phone lines for the copper inside. The down side is it still fairly new and not available in all areas yet.

Well I called Time Warner and looks like Comcast bought them out. This is getting too hard to deal with. Let me ask you guys a ? Is high speed internet and basic cable(cannels 0-99) typical to be $100 per month or is that way over priced? I just wanna make sure there isnt a wayyyyy cheaper better company out there.

The price depends on the market area where you live, but that seems pretty reasonable.

Clearwire is an Internet co. there are 2 towers in MN. 9.99 a month for 4 months, then goes to 20 a month, speeds 1.5 to 2.. but if you live more than 40 miles from one of the towers, don't do it. they will try to sell it to you much farther. but dont. I install sat/Internet for country folk, and many tried clearwire first, and hated it cause of the distance. but their is a tower here in Richmond VA and my neighbors love it. you can even take it with you in your car, so long as your in tower distance, like a cell phone.

basic tv is still analog. and there ways around that

If your not into that, get Dishnet 100 digital channels including your local channels 24. a month for 4 months then goes to 42. plus right now their giving away dvrs(like tivos) if you never used one there awesome. good luck.
