early this week i posted about my shoulder injury.went to specialist today so i can get a shot of cordosone thats what the E.R doctor said i needed but the x-ray didn't show much.but it did show my colorbone is broken.it show's a big gap were it's broken like a big piece of bone missing where it cracked.and one of the ends shifted up giving me a visible lump on my shoulder.funny thing is i always looked in the mirror and use to say man why do i have this lump here and not on the other side.if you press it it's hard as hell well it's bone.so the doc freaks out and presses on it and says it dont hurt i say no i had that for years like that.so he told me if i had any injury in my early age.i told him well lets see between dirt bike riding falls, playing football with no equipment, jumping off roofs, and plenty of street fight's i can see how i could of broken it but it must of not hurt that bad when it broke cause i never felt enough pain to go to the hospital.and i know what broken bone pain is i broke my ankle playing softball and i went to the hospital.it hurt like hell and sweld-up like a pig in matter of seconds.so any how he said if it dont hurt and its been like that for years not to worry and leave it alone which i agree.he sent me to get a mri he thinks the pain is either rotator-cuff or torn pec muscle.he said no cordosone till we see what's happening in there.i'm 35 he said i'm still young oviousely healthy no need to inject cordosone yet.he aid after the mri if i need it he would but first let's see what going on in there.he said if he is going to inject me with something he would want me to know what he's injecting me with and why not just say ok here cordosone injection in 2 day you be brand new end of story.which i agree with him.that tells me he is a good doctor.not just one who tell you ok this is what you want ok here know pay me come see me again.what you bro's think

A little confused?

Im not quite sure what the question is, but I had something similar happen last year. I had mild to moderate pain in my left shoulder for 3-4 years and it got to the point where I couldnt bench anymore, then i couldnt incline anymore, then i couldnt even do hammer strength so I finally had it looked at. I also had a "bump" in my shoulder. The doc ordered an MRI and I had to have some of my clavicle "collar bone" cut off. He said that many football players and powerlifters/bodybuilders have this problem.
The clavicle begins to bend downward due to the pressure of the tight muscle fibers and it begins to interfere with certain lifts and can hurt pretty bad.
I waited along time to have it fixed so by the time he operated it had caused a whole shit load of problems. My humerus became covered in bone spurs and they chewed all the cartiledge up in my shoulder so they had to cut the spurs and replace the tissue.

Let us know what the results are from the MRI

I cant believe the Doc did not draw a distinction between your shoulder injury and a broken collar bone. Your collar bone stabalizes the shoulder????

Take a look at an anatomy chart and see what you think.

Holy crap. Now I gota re think my situation conserning shoulder pain.
I have no damn insurance and shoulders been givin me hell know for
7 months. I'm a great believer in heavy benching but now I kringe at
the thought.

dogman i think he might he just doesn't want to jump out and say thats your problem.he want to look at the MRI and determand all posible problems before just pointing fingers.see funny thing is this shoulder has been giving me problems for years.it comes and go's.i think if it had to do with my broken colobone it would not come and go it be there all the time.just my 2 pennies though.

wow birdman how was recovery.must of sucked.how long you out of the gym.

I am just surprised is all. An MRI should tell you. I had problems with my shoulder as well for quite some time, I alway's worked chest anyway. Then one day I could not push a thing. I immediatly thought rotator cuff issues as I often had soreness and pain when I was playing baseball in college. Long story short. I went to one of the best shoulder guy's in the world at the time Dr.Burkhead? I know he was the Star's shoulder doc anyway the MRI showed a deranged clavicle. Under the heavy weight my colar bone was seperating at the shoulder attachment.

So when I hear people talk about shoulder issue's from benching I alway's think collarbone.
Anyway keep us posted and good luck.
