All too often we get caught up in the seemingly huge gap between where we’re at now, and where we want to be. This is especially true in our physique endeavors – we look at our body and think of the body we want, and realize that there’s a lot of blood, sweat, tears (and years) in between. The task can seem overwhelming.
Rather than approaching it from the perspective of “geez, look how far I am from where I want to be”, you might want to employ a more rational (and healthy) approach of taking things one step at a time.
By focusing on what we have to do JUST today, JUST this hour, we divide our huge tasks into manageable chunks that we can handle (and we can take the time to truly enjoy what we’re doing, rather than constantly thinking of some distant, elusive goal).
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
Enjoy your journey because your life is made of your day-to-day living and struggles, not the goals you achieve.
“The key is not to think of doing things right every time; the thought seems too overwhelming. Just do it right one time: this time, right now. That's all you ever have to worry about. Do what has to be done, when it has to be done, as well as it can be done, and do it that way every time."
