Upgrading cars and looking to sell one I currently own and wanted some feedback from anyone who has sold a vehicle through eBay. Never done anything like this before and I'm a little hesitant to be honest as the car I'm getting rid of is fairly pricey and would obviously want to avoid any scams or hassles. Any advice before I make the listing?

i sold motorcycles on there..never had issue with scammers...but put it in the ad that scammers need not contact you, no BS bogus cashiers checks(make sure cash or bank check that you can call and verify or you dont take it) and NO OVERSEAS BUYERS!!! they are all scammers obviously

I'm gonna go ahead and throw it up today, hoping to get a good chunk more than what I was offered on the trade in. Thanks for the input.

^ this and I am a avid ebayer but never sold a car. Just put in the action that you will need funds to clear before you sign over the title and dont accept bids from ZERO feedback guys cause they could be trollin. Also keep in mind that ebay gets a fee for listing and closeing and then if you use paypal. If the car sells for enough you could be talking close to 500-1000 for fees.

as ronnie said check the fees they add up quick. ive sold many custom mortorcycles on ebay and not one sold through ebay, they wait to see if anyone hits the reserve. and if not they will call or email you the next day thats how everyone of the deals iv done went down. make sure you put your phone number in the add people who are spending this kind of money want to talk to someone. also i like to have the funds wired directly into my account for to reasons one is i can verifly it right away online. second who wants to count 30 grand and what if its fake...good luck with ur auction....

I sold a 67 SS RS camaro convertible 3 years ago.....no problem at all....alot of bidders for it and sold it for the price i wanted. Got a bank check from Bank of America

From the buyer's perspective, make sure you take some damn good photos after having the car detailed. Bad pictures can make or break a sale.

I've purchased two cars from eBay, not a single problem (except the bitch took the CD player out of one of the cars, but said in the auction it came with it). Bought them for 50% of the retail value. Had to fly my dad about 700 miles away to get it but he didn't care, free trip.

He also purchased a 77 Trans Am off eBay and got hosed.....big time. Turns out the car was TWO car welded together. Since he bought it in Florida, it was shit out of luck. I guess you can sue people there, win, and they don't HAVE to pay (or so says his GM lawyers). He took a big hit to the tune of $12k. Thankfully a flood ruined the car and he got that and then some back.....very lucky man.

But really, just make sure you use your head and post the auction like you would want to see as a buyer.
