So....it's been about 3 1/2 wks since i broke my right ankle and had surgery (8 screws and a plate). I have barely been able to work out and can't do any cardio until the 23rd. I'm getting fat and losing size.......How long do you think it would take to get back in shape after a 6 week layoff?

By the way.....this has nothing to do with the previous question, but I just bought a little girl name Lola..she's 8 wks old and very cute....does anybody here have a boxxer (dog)?...if so...how do you like it?

..

i had a bilateral fracture and also have a plate and 8 scres on one side, one screw in the front and one screw on the isnide...

lot more than 8 weeks out...

its about a year later and i can do most of the stuff i used to be able to do except calf raises and run and/or jump around...

...

I don't know with regards to how soon you'll be able to train certain body parts at full intensity with the injury, but being that yo umay get back at it in 6 weeks at, say, 75% intensity, it will take you no time at all.

Mostly right now you will be suffering tricks of the mind. Your muscles may not be as full thru lack of activity, so you'll feel smaller from that as well. Fat - well maybe a tiny bit more but probably just a bit more fluid. Also contributing to the feeling will be you not feeling as hard all over.

Just relax and you will not be as far behind as you think when you come back. Don't let the diet go to shit though.

i broke my ankle 1,5 years ago and it still gives me some trouble... if i were you i would wait some time before squatting and deadlifting heavy...

Thanks for the words of advice guys........Shit Brooklyn......you must have one hard head :O

Got two boxers....

Yes boxers are great dogs. Very lovey, but very high strung at times. I have a M and F. The males two years younger and he is crazy at times. He jumps at the squirrels in our back yard and gets like 3-4 foot in the air. Yeah I love em. Just dont expose them to extreme heat or cold. They do not fair well in hot/cold. Also I would say keep it an indoor dog. I saw one on a chain the other day and I swear It's spirit was broke and I wanted to steal the damn thing to show it the attention it deserved.
