I think because Arnold went on to become a huge movie star, then governor. I think he just over shadows Hany so much but you don't hear about a lot of bodybuilders even from the Hany era. I bet a lot of guys in their 50's though remember him well. As I just started reading magazine at 14-15 and at that time it was the Dorian era and they didn't speak much on Hany. A lot on Arnold though. I went looking for Hany on YouTube and wound up looking at Shaun Ray and Levrone. Man they were freaks! Seriously Shaun Ray was like WTF! No bubble guts on those guys either. And you don't get to the top by not thinking you're the best in the world. Even Dorian turned down a significant amount money when he was on food stamps because "I think I can have a go at the Mr. O" I think he said it was like 250k/year. You don't do that unless you know what you're capable of. I don't remember why it was to his benefit to turn it down.

Since you both agree with Haney please name the modern guys with Frankenstein physiques. Since it's such an overwhelming majority I expect you'll both be able to list tons of names so those who disagree can see why they're wrong.

Each era tends to have its own standout competitors, and opinions on who represents the pinnacle of physique can vary. After Phil heath retired, the standard of Mr O champions went to nothing. Brandon curry, big ramy haid chopan and so on. Im not going to list/post pics of every bodybuilder cause will debate this shit forever. Its obvious to me and not to others. I guess. My guess guys that like this generation will be saing the same shit 20 years from now.

Opinions on what looks best is subjective. Haney looked good but had small legs i thought, same for Arnold. My idea leans to the rugged side not pretty side of the sport. It would be nice if people could be judged on how well they built themselves up for the frame they have. And not against a standard that many if not most will never have.

It's ironic that Lee likes classic and once you eliminate anyone under 5'10" there is NOT a lot of "physique diversity" in that division, heck I think there is more variety in open vs classic.

Im not saying they all look bad but many due? Im saying that that the majority of competitors from yesteyears were better overall especially in conditioning.

Im familiar with many bodybuilder's from this generation and others. I respect the sport and the old generation and the new. Things evolve and change in bodybuilding always have always will.

I really like going to local Competitions and some regional. Have not been to the Mr. O since Brandon won in 2019 in Vegas. Missed last Vegas one when Hadi won. Glad its back in Vegas 2024. Either way love bodybuilding always have always will even if I dont like IMO some of the looks. Also, that 2019 Mr. OLYMPIA was bad maybe the worst one in many many years the condtioning was horrible. Old news thou

Nick with his quads has an atrocious problem in frontal poses.
