way to go man! im about to take my ACE and ACSM test in the next month or so. im pumped !
Just passed the NASM CPT, next on my list which I'm gonna start studying for next week is the NASM PES Performance Enhancement Specialist and will go for the CES following that which is Corrective Exercise....
Thats great man have you already got a pt job lined up or are you looking to go into something else.
Ive been lookin at gettin that one myself I heard it's pretty good how hard was the test? what kinds of things did it consist of? Congrats also man.
Do it bro, ISSA is a good cert go for it....
I'm glad this thread popped up. I am in between jobs right now and trying to switch careers to get into something fitness related. My only hesitation is the fact I would start out making less than I was used to. What kind of jobs and what kind of pay would one expect if you get an NASM (or something else good) certification? Also, which certs should I go for? I want to be a PT and then manage a gym (i have management experience already)
Bad time to get into it. I did it for 10 years. Still have friends in it. The first thing to cut back on when people are not making as much money is personal training. PT sales at a couple of huge gyms in very wealthy areas are down 50%.
I was kind of afraid of this. I was offered a job at an average gym here in NYC (NYSC) where they would put me on a probationary period as a regular PT, then step up at the gym manager within 3-9 months (wide range). The thing I would be weary about is approaching people at the gym during their workouts trying to offer them personal training. I mean do people actually sign up for pt sessions when they do that?
