Please keep my family in your prayers

On thursday dec. 10 I was laid off from my job of 5 years. This is a very difficult time for me and my family now as my wife is pregnant (due Jan. 20) and we just lost our income and insurance. Now we are trying to get medicaid to help with the burden of doctor visits, medications, and childbirth costs. HRT meds for me jumped from $23 a month to $110 also. The one and only thing i ask of the people that read this thread is to please keep us in your prayers (if you pray) or thoughts. I'm just thankful that we were able to buy our first sons christmas presents before this happened so that he is able to have a Christmas.

hang in there bro. i am so sorry to read of your misfortune. what was your job? is there demand out there for what you do? i have a couple friends who were also just laid off and being that it is right before Christmas it feels even worse. prayers are with you...

i lost my job also in july of this yr . i have had no insurance. and llike you i had some money saved up to pay for christmas .

but today i found out that i just got a job ive been waiting on for 3 months.
its a better job then what i had before and less work. so something always comes out of it.

so hang in there and let god work it out for you. all the best to you and your a family .and hope that baby has a wonderful first christmas.

Hey bro, stay strong. I've been there and will be going back there in Feb. But I'm already trying to get into a temporary field of work, just have to finish up some training. Hopefully I will get work by march or april.

Be strong for you and your family. If you feel like shit so will they. You have to hold it together for them!!!!Stay postive!!!!!! No matter what or how bad it may get!!! Also, surround yourself with positve people. By all means nec stay away from the negative ones.

Also, see good from bad. Like good health, a beautiful family, it will make you all stronger, etc.

Your not dead, or in a wheelchair. So you have lots of fight left in you!

sux bro, ive been out 8 months, i dont have any kids, but im engaged and i lose all bennys dec 31....................this country is set up for the rich to get richer, thats why the economy tanked and why were in the spot were in....................

Things will bounce back for sure. Just hang in there and be strong for your family. My prayers are with you and yours. They say that family unity and closeness has never been greater since this downfall in our economy. Do what you have to, keep pride in yourself (it's not your fault), and it will get better. With a little extra time( not planned) this holiday, enjoy your family and I wish you well.

Many people I know have been laid off this year..others last yr...things will get better, just keep your head up and keep going for jobs..If you know alot of people let them know you're looking. It may help...some people are getting interviews and jobs from referrals..people they know.

I was laid off from middle/upper management in the banking industry last May. I haven't been able to find another position yet, but my relationships with my family and friends have grown tremendously.

It's a brutal economy out there.. As a graduate from a private university, a masters degree in finance and years of experience from one of the most "prestigous" financial firms, I cannot get a job as a bank teller.

Keep your chin up. You have your health and family which are the most important assets in your life. Everything will take a turn for the better eventually.

As far as the insurance, COBRA should be available and still provide the exact coverage it provided prior to being laid off. In your case with an impending birth you should sign up. The time frame was also extended for COBRA to be in effect.

In essence you have to pay for the insurance completely but you get the same coverage.

cobra for a family plan is anywere from 1200 to 2000 a month,,,,,,,,,a single plan is like 500 bucks......fuckin crazy....you might just want to get cobra for a few months until your baby is born. if you have to pay for a baby to be born in a hospitol its gonna cost you like 20,000 to 25.000 dollars!!!!!!
