Prayer and Thought Request For Dad...

I'm sort of a new kid on the block, but thought I'd see if I could some thoughts and prayer for my Dad. He had gastric bypass surgery yesterday which went great. However, lastnight he started losing blood from his incessions into his abdomen they think and his BP is down to about 84/42 which is getting close to shock level. He's still in the hospital of course, and some more blood has been ordered for him..but not delivered bc of a mix up with his initials WBN and someone elses with WRN. A bit frustrating.
Dad's always been a big man in my life. He's maintained 350-400lbs at 6'1" since his mid 30's and he's now 63. He's pretty big boned so he's always carried the weight well. He got me started with the iron. He's always tried to eat a healthy diet of vegetables and low fat meats. His cholesterol, lipids, and arteries are all excellent and clean. He's fought diabetes for the past 10 years and we're hoping this can help him with that.

Its great that you ask us for our support, you did the right thing by doing so. You now have a huge family praying for your father... You and your dad will certainly pull through this.

Make sure you tell your dad what an awesome father he is and how much you appreciate his guidance, this is CRUCIAL to his healing....

WOW! Thank you all for the responses! They have certainly helped!
I advised the doctors to give him some LBA's and his blood pressure has risen to 115/60.

No, seriously, they are giving him red blood cells and he is feeling better now. They think his internal bleeding has subsided. Can be a really scary thing when he is telling you this stuff on the phone and tells you that he loves you and you know it could be the last time you hear it...

Hopefully, that is the worst of it and there won't be any more hiccups here on out.
