I'm sure many have watched, vids of Coleman, Yates, Jay, whoever ya like, to get mentally jacked for the iron. I'm one of them - if I'm hitting legs, it's often watching Ronnie squat or leg press crazy weights. If back day, usually Ronnie or Yates hitting back. Etc etc. But being they can be time consuming, there is one vid around 7 mins or so that I've watched for the past 15 years that gets me jacked, especially around the 1:28 mark when Disturb's "Land of Confusion" kicks in:

If ya'll got some good go-to's also, post 'em up! :)

I generally just thought about my workout. And what i wanted to accomplish.
Yea.

If it took me ‘something’ that I was not able to muster up myself to workout I would not workout, would avoid it like the plague.

But hey, that is just me. No harm, no foul.

For me, it varies...sometimes, it's the Jay or Dorian motivational videos. Sometimes, it's looking at pics from my past compettions, concentrating on the person that beat me and where and how and just meditating on what I need to do to turn those liabilities into strengths.

Yea I love to train, though sometimes I sit out in my car and enjoy another diet dew if I feel a little sluggish. Most times.I am.sluggish I am usually stronger.and have great workouts. When I get in the gym its all business. I am not doing nothing else so I might.as well train hard. I listen to all gangster rap on my way to the gym. So I am usually in the mood to rob somebody and kill a snitch. Even though i never would.

I used to do a lot of hype stuff when I was younger, particularly when I competed in PL but I found that stuff actually had a negative effect and just tired me out.

These days I just focus on the logbook, I have numbers to beat and that's enough motivation for me. I'm still able to get myself into that zone for sets and sometimes it's just too much. So I like to relax a bit between sets to get my HR and mentality down. If I don't purposefully try to bring myself 'down' after a set I find I can burn myself out during the session. I need to moderate that intensity and use it during the set only.

So no external hype stuff any more.

Most of my most productive training was when I had a little bit of anxiety going into the workout. And a lot on leg or hinge day.

I have been experiencing this for the past few years. I'm like: you've got all the shit in you, the diet is perfect, and if you don't beat the log book on leg day today, everything is worth shit.... very stressful lol

I always loved the PM youtube page,,,Big A had a lot of motivational videos put together by Zhasni years back!
Those were awesome. I wish he still made more recent videos like that

This is my new favorite video doing cardio. The first 15 minutes are great, but 06:10-15:00 are spectacular. If this doesn't get your adrenaline pumping then idk

theres a slight audio repeat in the beggining of the video, but it's still good regardless

I always liked this one. I don't watch anything to get motivated, but I like coming back to this a few times a year just because.

A good thorough warm up helps. Squeeze and flex and contract. Get the muscle used to feeling a heavy load before jumping into a true working set with it.

I have never been into psych up videos. But I have been a little eccentric about my preworkout supplementation ritual. I used to be a party animal in my younger years and found the gym mid/late 20s and the lifestyle that accompanied it really helped me stay sober the majority of the time. Probably saved my life, really. But I treated my preworkout supps (stim based and heavy) as the only buzz I was allowed to have. So I ended up addicted to the ritual of mixing, chugging and feeling the buzz kick in lol. But I have nerded out like that ever since. No kidding, I have my combination of pills for preworkout purposes already separated into small baggies and set out for the next 2 days.

I’ve tried just about everything. I like mixing and matching stims and nootropics. And I like variety in my daily preworkout buzz. The slight to moderate buzz I get from my preworkout stims and nootropics is usually enough motivation for me to get in there and start training. Never tried the video approach though. But I already have one crutch I wish I didn’t feel like I needed.

For me it's all about goal setting
