Question for those who have used BACTRIM

I was prescribed bactrim for the infection on my neck. Apparently it was a pretty severe bacterial infection. Anyway, I googled the med and am totally freaked out. Cases of severe and sudden liver failure, renal shutdown, and all kinds of problems.

My question is, are these kinda overstated, or should I be worried?

I am guessing the cases are extremely rare, and the infection on your neck is much more pressing. Staph or strep or whatever type of infection you have are nothing to take lightly these days.

I hope so. I take milk thistle and liv52 regularly so I'm hoping that will help. I'm on day 2 and feel good so far. I guess I'll just see what happens.

I've used Bactrim a dozen of times, never had a problem. Only people I know who had problems with it are the ones allergic to sulfa.

That makes me feel better. Now I'll go google sulfa cause I'm not sure what that is!
