Rant about Test Prop

I'm on HRT and I chose to use test prop for it (I know, don't start in... I had my reasons)... and I have to tell you guys about a scary story. I gave myself a shot last wednesday (it's now monday), and then thursday I noticed extreme pain and swelling. I always get miserable pain and swelling with prop, though, so I think that this is just a heavy case of it. But, I had a mild fever to go along with it. This had happened to me once before... I had a mild fever directly after using prop, and pain, of course. So, I wait. Friday comes, and it doesn't get any better, and I start looking for ways to order bactrim online, while my ass is a balloon and I've got so much pain I can barely walk around. I'm starting to think that something is up. Saturday, I bite the bullet and go to the urgent care doc-in-a-box to get my ass checked out. The bad thing is that I don't have health insurance, so I have to pay out of pocket for the doc visit and the medication he prescribed. Now, I'm out 270 bucks and have a sore ass. The doc suspects that it might be an abscess, but doesn't know. My ass has been getting progressively better since saturday, and today, I barely have any pain and the swelling is way down. I'm hoping that this means it's getting better, and that if there are any infectious parasites in my ass, that they're dying, too. To tell you the truth, I don't think that it was an abscess. Just an unfortunate set of circumstances. Lesson learned: no more test prop! painful ass shit (no pun intended).

I was just going to add to it and say that I always get swelling and pain with test prop, but this time I had a fever with it -- and more pain. In general, test prop has caused me nothing but pain and misery. A while ago I pinned my deltoid and it swelled up like a balloon, too. Painful. Miserable compound.

I was refering to the abcess or potental abcess in his ass. Any gear can cause that.

As for test prop, compounded pharm stuff does not seem to hurt that bad at all. IP's, I can't walk for a week.

Bro, if you think that the propionate is what is causing it as opposed to Enan..or cyp...you're wrong. Esters don't cause fevers. When you go febrile, your body is attempting to kill _______. Propionate esters don't elicit a response from your body like that. lol. So what does? Maybe the other "stuff" in there...hmmm....

You know everyone is different...Some people will swell up, with anything, while some dont feel a thing...

true, but I was also coming off of t3 the same day I gave myself the shot... I didn't take any t3 thursday, friday, or saturday, but the temp stayed. I gave it a day or two. It turned into chills on friday night. It was a long winded post and I didn't put everything in there. I also had a similar mystery fever and swelling with prop, before (the same stuff... from a compounding pharmacy). That time, the fever only stayed for a day.

ahhh...well then.
Since it was from the same place, I'd still be willing to bet that it's not because of PROP, rather poor sterilization, or pinning cleanliness.
Could be wrong though, correlation doesn't always equal causation.

you are on HRT but don't have health insurance? so I assume you mean self precribed HRT, yes? never a good idea to be self administering drugs while having no health ins---you're asking for trouble

The best prop ever was converted synovex using Dazeds kits back in the day.Painless and blew up like a ballon.Now was one of first gear runs,but no pain.

I hope youre rotating your injection locations. If you hit the same spot more than once a week, it wont matter what you use...youre asking for it.

not self prescribed, but actual HRT through a doc. And yes, I'm asking for trouble, in a certain sense... but there aren't many options for someone like me at this point. What am I supposed to do, stay off for another 4 years before I get insurance? I suppose that I could, but I wouldn't want to. I only opted for HRT after hitting a 1.5 year plateau and gaining 80 pounds over 9 years, with no prohormones, creatine, magic pills, or anything else.

it could be that you're not using enough prop to get pain. I didn't get any pain from 50 mg's (1/2 ml), but got onto the pain train with 150 mg's (1.5 ml's).
