Northern Pike-WOW


This is the new record in Canada.

He caught it on Rainy Lake.

Check this thing out.. The last picture is unbelievable!

This guy (in the photos below), was fishing and caught a 36 inch Pike.

As he was reeling it in, a 56 inch Pike tried to eat it!!!!!

He brought them both in on the same net.

Awesome catch on a river in Canada- 55 lbs - 56 inches.

used to go up to canada when i was a kid with my dad and caught these suckers. even if you dont like to fish you would have fun going for these guys. they see the boat and they just go nuts. no matter how big they were though we always practice catch and release. had one actually pull our boat and break a steel leader. canadian wilderness is just beautiful country, at night the sky was so clear and there were just billions and billions of stars. was an amazing experience. wish they had digital cameras available in those days.

I thought it looked like something was taking a bite! lol! I thought he was using gigantic pike for bait! I keep checking the fish for site injections. At the least it has a bloated belly and that will be a point deduction for sure.

In Az we had a couple lakes with some nice pike in um....that's a fun fish to catch there like mini baracudas..

Did you see that monster quest about fish? it was awesome....they found a pike or walleye lower jaw and sized it up to be larger than the world record...I wonder how this new one measures up?

they showed some aligator gar fishing that was bad-ass.....

we have some monster catfish living under the damn's up here on the ohio river. i saw the monster quest show, kinda scary cause those fish have a full set of razor sharp teeth.

I lived in a house right on Rainy lake,where this picture was taken... prior to living where i am presently, it is in Fort Frances ontario, right on the border......It has some of the best bass fishing in north america...Also tonnes of walleye, and those crazy jackfish...I saw that pic a coup[le yrs ago when i lived there.
I would get home from work, toss my stuff on my deck, stroll 30 steps to my boat, jump in and catch fish for an hour before supper...It was awesome....
Thats a very cool pic....Ive had walleye on and a damn jackfish/northern pike grabbed it and left a head on my line a few times...

yup...when I lived in Lake Havasu I would fish almost every night...very common to catch 3-4 foot cats on a regular basis....I knew some guys that fished the river below the damn said have got 6 and bigger foot cats....

sometimes with pike they will swallow the entire lure, hook, etc. if thats the case here the second larger pike would have hooked himself pretty easily thru the smaller pike.

nice fish, i catch flatheads, catfish, they can get over 100lbs easy

I wasnt there , but i was living there at the time it was caught, it was netted off the side of the boat, while pulling the smaller fish biting in its side....Both fish were intact when landed..

not when they are that big....Smaller ones in the spring and winter are delicious, although bony...If you know how to fillet well, you can get almost all of them out of there and enjoy the feast.....
Many anglers just kill them and throw away, as they eat ducks, walleye, bass etc. and chase prize fish away....They are like barracudas....ferocious predators.
