hi all
whys is it in the mags and videos and dvd's its always train with low reps and heavy weight
why cant we train with heavy weight and high reps say 15 for bodyparts except leg 20+ for them and still get the same results ????
 
Thats just it....you can.

I go as heavy as I can for 12-15 reps and on legs I go 15 but some weeks I dont increase the weight I just use the previous weeks weight but I try to go for 20+ reps.

I actually feel that I got the best results on my skinny legs when I was doing 30 reps and when I got to 50 with a weight i would add more weight and start back at 30 reps again.
 
you can,and some guys do.
but that not going to work for everybody.for some guys you need to use only 40lb dumbel to have arms 22 inches,for some 100lb that is the diference.thats why we have so meny diferent guys,so many diferent opinions.

I've gotten my best size out of reps of 5's...buried on the floor no sissy squating....

I would d o a 16 week cycle and my reps were 7's..5's..3's...4-5 weeks each... and adding the necessary weight every week....I've gotten my legs to 30" & 30 1/2"...respectively...I feel doing reps of 5 at maximum weight gave me the size and power too!...

My problem is my arms...can't get the fucker's too grow...
 
Both high reps and low reps have its place. The most important factor is your TUL. Try keeping it around 30 sec. It shows that reps between 5-12 are very effective for gaining size. Cycle your reps, 4wks 10-12 , 4wks 4-6.
This is what i try to do in my HSIT routine.

I play around with my reps, I have had great success with lower 6-10 reps, but these days I dont go under 8-10 reps, usually around 12+ and it seems to work great for me, and I also do alot more volume, works great. I also find my strength when I do go back to the lower reps/heavy weight has gone up quite a bit....so it could be a good idea to change your routne up when you hit a plateau then go back to the lower reps high weight.
 
I typically do 6-10 for upperbody and 12-20 for legs/abs and thats what works best for me

I like 6 reps..

In a perfect werld I would progressively hit failure every time on my 6th rep...for all bp's.
