Of the two bands named after the Crow; Which was the better band, Counting or Black? Opinions, thoughts...

IMO The Black Crowes. Counting Crows was just a band that seemed too much like pop to me. Not my cup of tea.

I did forget about Cheryl, but I always considered her more of a solo act. I'm a Black Crows fan myself. Counting crows felt definitely moe pop and a bit whiny for my taste.

Another band back in the 60s/70s! Called Crow.

Black Crowes, no comparison possible for me despite liking some Counting Crows songs. I went to see the Crowes live at London´s Brixton Academy on the 28th of November 1992 (I think The Verve was playing too but can´t remember seing them) and that was a an absolute blast of a concert, the crowd were super responsive and I got my first taste of moshing there, I didn´t know what it was and I wanted ti rip the fucking head off the dude that slammed into me a couple of times, then I observed others were doing the same and cooled down, I did have this sweet little girl in front of me and she was being crushed at times so me and my friends ended up taking her to one side right up front. Talk about bathing in people, I was wearing jeans and they were drenched in sweat at the end of the concert, not fun when we left.

Growing up one of my favorites was the Crow motion Picture Soundtrack featuring Nine Inch Nails, Henry Rollins Violent Femmes. Still holds up pretty good today.

White Zombie by far! 2nd place I would go with White Snake.

Now that you mention White Stripes, how about Stryper! That was a really novel band, being Christian Rock.

Side note, I used to get so High back in the day listening to the Black crowes, they were the best to listen to and smoke weed to when I was in my late teens and early 20's. Long gone but fondly remembered days!!
