Safe way pulling from amps

Does anyone have any recommends on how to SAFELY pull from a amp. They look like a pain in the a$$. Rubber tops bottles seem alot easier. But most human grade gear is in amps and not rubber tops bottles. THANKS for any help.

i dont use it cause i ALWAYS break the damn amp! i have to get the big 50cc bottles of Bac. Water to use with growth cause it breaks every time! i need an amp opener

Buy an amp opener to break the amps easily and use a 18g pin to draw the solution from the amps.

i wrap a paper towel around the bottom and just snap off the top...

i have maybe ruined 5 ams like this in the last 10yrs...so it works pretty good for me


just when u snap the top off you really have to commit to snapping it off...and do it fast.

Score the neck of the amp at the narrowest part.

Do as G.E.R.M. stated, using a towel briskly snap the top off...

Then the "correct" way to draw the oil out: quickly flip the amp upside down, yes upside down, if all the above was done properly no oil will come out, then stick the pin into the amp near the bottom, and draw up the oil, this will get every last drop of oil out without having the scrounge and scrape round the bottom of the amp at the end...

Turn it up with the open ended pointed towards the ground? Kinda like how you would a rubber top bottle? And it won't run out?

Yep, snap off the top an turn it upside down. It defies gravity. Promise. Then stick your pin into it and suck it all out. I was skeptical the first time too. So after emptying an amp my old way (right side up) I refilled the amp with tap water and tried it. Works like a charm.

easiest way i have found to break them is to score them with a steak knife, something with rough edges. then grab a BIC pen cap, stick the cap over the end and break that MOFO off, never had an amp break on me either.

I dont have a problem opening them. They are Jelfa's (GREAT SHIT) It's drawing from them. I found is a pain in the ass.

ME either...or if you have amps withno labs, wrap some tape around it...that will help hold it together. SHARPIE tops work good too...but put a good mark in it
