After my third time watching this video I’m starting to get a much better understanding on the topic. A lot of people are way too worried about nuking their SHBG for “more gains” when this is a pretty dumb approach.
The biggest takeaway is that there’s a big difference between “free testosterone” and “bioavailable testosterone”. Just because testosterone is bound to SHBG it doesn’t mean it’s “useless” in fact a guy with an SHBG of 30 will grow more muscle than the guy with an SHBG of 10. Testosterone can and will become unbound from SHBG in the muscle cell nucleus and will have no issue binding to the AR. I have been confused about this for a long time, and there’s a lot of misconceptions about the true purpose of SHBG, it’s not a bad thing at all. It’s taking the hormones to where they need to go.
