Sleep apnea (you need to get it treated)

I thought I'd be able to get away with just the nasal one but since I don't keep my mouth closed while sleeping I have to have the full face one(covering mouth and nose)
Hopefully it's not that hard to get used to.

I'm the same way (mouth breather/sleeper)...but, I found it easier to train myself to fix that and use the nasal pillows than it was to deal with the suffocating feeling of the full mask! I tried multiple different ones!

Does anyone have a review or advice about which company/machine would be better??

I concidered buying a machine on my own and not do the sleep studies.
Clinic told me to get a Resmed s10 auto as my first choice. I found them at an independent shop for $750.00 but I had to have a priscription to buy from him.
I found used ones online for sell I could have bought but I ended up going through the whole process since I have insurance.

This post made me remember that i should really go get a sleep study done, my gf keeps mentionning i snore loudly and stop breathing at times

Finally got my cpap yesterday.
Last night was the first night using it.
Went to bed around 930 and I remember waking up at 1230 and taking it off.
Not good. I think it's just gonna take me a few nights to get used to it and used to wearing the mask.
How long did it take you guys to adjust to wearing the mask or nasal one?
Hopefully it doesn't take me long to adjust to wearing it I hope.
will let you guys know how I'm doing with it and if I notice a difference.

I never had a sleep study done. My gf said is snore loud. Then i went to a ear nose throat specialist. He took my tonsils out and gave me an antibiotic nose spray cuz my nose would clog up every few hours if i didnt clear it. Hence i was a mouth breather. After that was all done i dont snore anymore gf says. So glad i dont have one of those masks, no offense. But i dont see myself
Falling asleep wearing a mask. I wore a back brace to bed growing up and i never slept non stop with that pos.

Yeah I've had my CPAP for a couple years. Have tried numerous times to sleep with the mask on and can't do it without sleep meds. My work schedule is pretty screwy so I wear earplugs to bed too sine Im sleeping while most people are awake. With the mask on its like sleeping next to Darth Vader all night!:) Best I have been able to do lately is 4 hours with the mask on but only if I knock myself out with klonopin first. Once I wake up to go to the bathroom I can't get back to sleep with the mask on.

I'm just gonna keep trying and hopefully I get used to it soon enough. Last night was able to keep it on about 3 hours before I took it off.

Just keep trying with the mask. It's really not that bad once you get used to it. If you're still having issues, I suggest trying out different masks and finding one that works for you.

I actually like the rhythmic sound / feeling of it now--kinda lulls me to sleep and gives me something easy to concentrate on.

...and I'm still gaining / surpassing my years-old weight limit. I've even had to adjust the pressure 4-5 times now (higher) due to weight increasing.

Just keep trying out different masks. Most sites offer free returns to let you try out masks risk-free.

The cpap is the best thing I ever did ever!!! It miserable waking up 3 or 4 times a night...during testing they found out I stop sleeping 34 times in a hour....

This is probably the most disregarded thing in bodybuilding and yet the most important. Your wasting your time with all the health supplements your taking. If you are over 220lbs and use gear and GH odds are you have it. You could be smaller and have it to so everyone should get tested. I had one of the worst cases my Dr ever saw. I can't remember but it was something like 60 events per hour and oxygen at some points was 70% I believe. Hated the mask at first but now I can't sleep without it. I always had elevated RDW even after donating blood but now it's fixed. The only odd thing is I was expecting to feel much better and rested with the CPAP but I only noticed a very slight change. Maybe my body got used to it from all the years. I've had the CPAP for about 3yrs now and love knowing I sleep healthy now.

I'm still getting used to my cpap. I started with a nasal mask, then switched to a full, and now I'm back to my nasal. It's a bitch to get used to. I think I am going to try the nasal pillows next.

It had been hell getting used to the cpap. I guess the way my insurance is, the insurance company first rents the unit from the home health place. They take a reading every 30 days for first 2 months. So 2 readings total. They determine of they are going to cover it or not by the use of the machine by the client. So basically I was having a very rough time getting used to it. Would use it a night here and there but when I woke up in the middle of the night I would take it off and not put it back on. Needless to say the insurance company called me the other day. I have 3 weeks left till their reading and basically said I gotta use it at least 4 hours a night or I'm probably gonna have to give it back. So I have been forcing myself to use it and the past 3 nights have been ok. A total of 20 hours past 3 nights. So I think I am getting the hang of it and getting more used to wearing it. They are asking that I at least use it 4 hours a night which I have been able to do so far. So hopefully the next 2 and a half weeks go pretty good and I get to keep it.

Life changer. I was a hard learner. I truly feel if I dealt with this earlier I would not have faced Heart failure.

Now...I put on my mask if there is any chance I will sleep. If you can train your pecs to do 405 for 8 reps, you can train your face to let a mask recline on it.

I was hard, now I am a total believer. You can do this.

Pwood

Going about 7 nights strong. Feeling better about it. Just got to stick with it I guess. But definitely more dedicated to keep going the mask on. So far so good.
