About 3 weeks ago I was doing leg press and I completly loaded teh sled up when i start my reps i usually grip my hands under the seat instead of the handles on the side , anyways on my last few reps I felt some kind of strain up in my armpit area , I didnt think much of it and kept training well week by week it became more noticable , as you can see in this picture it would be my left armpit area there seems to be a small dent like tear , i spoke with a dr at my gym he said it will heal on its own but he seemed busy so i ddnt want to bother him to much in there, so i was wondering if anybody has had anything like this? its an uncomfortable feeling aches and feels bruised i guess , today i went in and did heavy back and it only hurt me a lil bit but still my mind was thinking about it the entire time , my body heals quick and im always aching somewhere if it isnt my elbows its my back if not my back its my knees ect , i guess Bbing has its price , if i were sitting behind a desk all day this wouldnt ever happen but then again wheres the rush in that.

well heres the ebst pic i could find.

Vander, I could tell right away before I even read the post what you had done. I got a little confused at first when you started talking about legpress. What I think that you might have done is partially torn part of your pec muscle away from the tendon. In other words, it kind of started to strip it's way down from the tendon. Just my best guess.

Yea that seems about right , the reason i mentioned leg press was cause thats when it happened i guess i was gripping to hard on the seat and it tore . Magnum would you happen to know if theres anything i can do to help this or will it heal fast ect i really dont know much about this.

Oh and BTW im gonna need you to build me up a diet , a 6 week plan to getting from 12% to about 7% PM me if you can help me out well talk about it.

THe "best" type of muscle tear (if there is such a thing) is a tear of the muscle itself. "Syntherol would be perfect for this" Somewhere between the insertion and origin. The type of tear you have will not grow back toward the tendon. Once this heals (bout least 6 weeks) you might want to try small amounts at the very end of the tear. I would think although not ideal, it would help some. Be glad it wasn't the tendon. Be VERY careful from here on in with that. I'll pm you.

|---[\\\\]>-------- Man, you are the 2nd person who i've known to hurt themselves doing leg presses! a guy i worked out with a few times at my gym torn his bicep doing leg presses with me. you guys and your straining!

a friend of mine in your guy's area busted his guts out his groin doing leg press...

Had a huge hernia right there infront of everyone and had to walk out of the gym slow and easy...the doc said he is prone to hernias due to the gap being abnormally large in that area...

Of course he was working out with a woman and wanted to impress her ;)

I say impress her by doing her weight 100 times not trying to press 2,000lbs 1 time...

That just sounds nasty, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

Hey V

I have minor tears like that on both sides of my chest and have tears in both my lat instertions that go under the arm, I have always had shoulder problems and recently am getting active release on it, he goes in and breaks up the scaring in that same chest area and in all the areas they find around the shoulder, I have gotten a huge range of motion back and shoulder feels waaay better. After you heal up maybe something like that to break up your scar tissue may be helpfull.
good luck.

So is this pec tear gonna prevent you from doing your lifts against tp4u and edge250?

be very careful dude, even though there is no tendon tear and it looks like a small tear you have to give that area a break. these guys gave you good advice but i have lived thru this shit and its no joke. you can have very small tears to the tendon and not know it until it fully snaps, so if the muscle is taking a beating in that area you can be sure the connective tissue is also. there will be no warning when the tendon goes, and if it would your looking at 6 months to a year to come back from and your pretty much done competing as the muscle will never look the same.

Same thing happened to me about 8 years ago doing flys and I let it rest for 8 weeks to heal and got back to the gym. Somedays I can still feel it a little bit when doing chest or shoulder press movements, lat pulldowns and sometimes squats but nothing major. But its still in the back of my mind when training chest witch holds me back a bit. I would love to know how to get it to fully recovor.

Sorry, I don't know - could be a number of different muscles/tendons that attach in that area.

Since it's "just sore" and not debilatating, I'd just avoid doing things that bother it and let it heal.

I really couldn't see where there was any problems in that pic other than the extra pair of hands that are growing outta your shoulders   :p

If you believe something has "separated," go see a Sports Orthopod. It would weem as if it was really separated, it would hurt more.

Good advice. I have had a complete pectoral rupture on my right side years ago. The only warning signs I had was that my shoulder/pec insertion seemed more sore and stiff than usual and I was starting to lose full range of motion. No big deal right? I was in the middle of a heavy cycle and making hugh strength gains so what did I do, I go for a 1 rep max in the bench the next workout. I was fixated on benching 405 (and was real close) and that was all I cared about, I was invinceable. I was young and stupid. The tendon snapped. I had hemorraging down my arm and side of my body the next day. Got the surgery to re-attach about a week or so later. The surgeon's exact words after the surgery were "it looked like an explosion in there"
Arm in a sling for a while, the whole rehab thing. I stopped lifting for years after that. Lost my incentive, lost my gains, got into rec. drugs instead.
I only recently started BB again about 1.5 years ago. The days of 1 rep maxes are over for me.
Oh, one other thing. I didn't tell the surgeon about the AAS use although he questioned my about it initially. After the surgery he told me he had a lot of trouble controlling bleeding. I then came clean and told him although it was too late.
I post this as I hope someone learns from my experience.

IGF-1 will heal just about anything that can be healed and some things that can't.

Im starting to believe this to be true, today i just got my MRI checked out by my Dr and as hes looking at the xrays he says out loud " wow look at this" i said oh no whats wrong, he replied no no its good its very good infact yor scalpula is in perfect shape he said he was impressed ,he said for all the lifting you do its very well intact, then he goes over my chest xray and says your good to train , i said are you sure he said are you nervous to train it i replied well yes iam he said listen see this tendon its intact and healthy now get outta here and train light and work your way up , this was great news and i just trained chest with reps of 20 or more and it felt great so hopefully ill be back in the game lifting heavy soon.

As for igf1 it helps along with some streoid creme along with this stuff called Thurmeel i used to rub on my pain is almost gone.

heres the xrays one of my chest and one of my shoulder and chest tie in not sure how to read these xrays but i guess its good.

I am confused, was it an MRI or x-ray? The reason I ask is that you cannot see soft tissue(i.e. tendons) from an x-ray; only bones.
