Small Frame, Size increase and the cut of T Shirts etc

Guys, I am 6.2. but have a very thin frame, generally the t-shirts cut that fit my traps and shoulders is a size medium, however as I have got bigger medium tshirts are no longer an option. The big problem is when I buy large t-shirts the shirt is cut to a person who is physically big but based around a large frame, hence the shoulders just dont fit right - there are random bits of tshirt sticking out loose around the upper/rear deltoid area (my middle deltoid tends to fit though), ie I have gotten physically bigger but my frame obviously doesnt change. the tshirt is expecting my traps to be longer and my deltoid slope to kick in much later, but cos of my small frame my delts kick in much sooner than a large frame.

This is really bugging me.

nb I am a very novice bodybuilder.

Does anybody experience anything similer to me?

Sort of.

I like to wear polos from time to time (plus I need to with my job) to look a bit "nicer". Mainly for the girlfriend, but that's another story. Problem is the new "fad" is to have sleeves about 2" long and super tight. So large shirts I can barely fit into. I fit, but it's VERY uncomfortable and rubs my armpits raw. Extra larges look like I'm wearing my sister's shirt up top, and my dad's at the bottom (super long). So I'm stuck in between. Wal-Mart is about the only place I can find that have polos that fit me.

T-shirts, generally, are not a problem. But there are times that I love the shirt but the cut is so bad for my body, it isn't worth it.

European cut shirts are generally more slim fitting but can be quite pricey. Nordstrom and Bloomingdales have tons of shirts in their designer sections that I cannot come close to wearing even in xxl including the designer T-Shirt Styles. I'm travelling at the end of next week, and me and my gf will be visiting shops in Rome that I have less than 1% chance of being able to buy things in. The only things I have bought so far in Italy other than shoes ,I have had custom made, a few shirts, and a few skin belts. I have the opposite problem from you, and it too can be an issue when you are a debonair fashion plate like myself.

BTW do not neglect your deadlifts and rows and the problem will cease to exist.:)

You impress me, pekkerwood. Italian fashion, mention of nordstrom and bloomingdales, and for fuck's sake "debonair fashion plate"!??!! Dude, you're a stylistic mofo

I kno what you're talking about - you just gotta try different brands of t-shirts.. I'm tall and lean, but I have broad shoulders and traps.. And the way different t-shirts are sized, some shirts can make me look big, while other shirts will have me looking smaller..

I totally know where you're coming from as it's difficult as hell to find flattering yet subtle fits. I'm inbetween a L and XL right now........

The L still looks good but is starting fit a little too snug and I'm not trying to be one of those obnoxious cats wearing tight ass shit trying to be noticed (I don't want to look like I'm starving for attention). The XL on the other hand is all wrong around the shoulders and is about 2 inces wider around the waist which I'd like.

The Gap has these T-Shirts that are 95% Cotton and 5% Spandex that don't let you grow out of them and don't shrink in the wash which have solved my problem as far as T's go. They're cheap as hell and come in lots of different colors.

Good luck but I say find a brand that fits you well, go shop at their website and that'll give you the best options and value for what you're looking for.

I've always had broad shoulders but in high school I grew to over 6 feet in a very short period of time. T shirts made me look very weird as i needed Larger size to accommodate my shoulders but still had the arms of a teenage boy. I was very lean and had tiny arms. What i found suited me the best back in the day were long sleeve shirts. When it was hot i would roll up the sleeves.

I have a narrow body type as well. I wear USA XXL however I have the problem where the upper shoulder part of my shirts are too long so that the sleeves come down even more covering up my entire upper arm. Designers these days should be smart enough to know that people come in all shapes and sizes and do away with their bs mindset where bigger shirts have to be longer horizontally.

All you tall guys quitcherbitchin'! :p 5'7" and I I gotta get XL but they are designed for taller guys so they're LONG! I rarely find a shirt that fits well. I usually go for the cotton/polyester blends as they're better fitting if I squeeze into a size L. I get incredibly irritable when I go clothes shopping....nothing seems to work for me.

Oh, and the shoulder area always pulls so I get these shirt lines where the fabric is pulling. That's annoying. I think as soon as I drop 15-20lbs it'll be easier to find stuff that fits well.

Exactly bro! I'm 5'7 as well and all the shirts I have are too long both vertically and horizontally. These designers/manufacturers have got to get their act together and seriously start catering to everyone.

I got veins in my stomach, at a wedding i stood in last week in the tux I looked like a fatass.

Shits gotta be tapered to fit. My jacket was three feet across at the top and the bottom by my waist because people are generally fatasses. Would have loved to look sharp with a tapered one that night.
