Snitch movie controlled delivery scene. Can happen to us?

Just watch the movie Snitch with the Rock. The controlled delivery scene was painful to watch. Could that happen to any of us who buy our gear online huh.

I have only seen an extended preview, and I would say absolutely...I remember hearing stories back in early 2000 where those tactics were used.

On a separate note, that movie looks good, I actually do want to see that...I'm a fan of the Rock.

Yea but how do you know if the postal worker/ups/fedex guy is a cop? They actually dress up like these people and make controlled deliveries. You won't know it's a cop until its too late. The only way to have a pretty good idea is to keep tabs on who delivers your stuff. Usually it's the same person. If it's a different person one day, and you know that whatever you are about to sign for is illegal, then don't sign for it.

You have to sign for most international stuff, so there's no way around it.

no thats not entrapment

In criminal law, entrapment is conduct by a law enforcement agent inducing a person to commit an offense that the person would otherwise have been unlikely to commit

Now if you actually bought some gear from a cop and you asked them if they were a cop and they said no, and you were not a known user, THEN MAYBE you could say entrapment. But in a situation like this, you've already done something illegal, and a signature would be used as evidence.

its called subterfuge... and yes they can lie to you if in the course of their duty it is for their protection or to aid in an active investigation where they believe deception is being used to conceal whatever criminal act..

also a good deal of city county state LE dont have a statute making lying to them a crime but the feds do if they are involved... just look at MLB and all the perjury charges made just on spoken interviews to feds... the whole sworn oath only in court clause doesnt apply for feds....

Also they have devices that whenever light touches the device, it sends a text message to a law enforcement officer's cellphone alerting them. How do I know? I know someone who was pinched by that device.

Sig or no sig, they can and will get you if they want to.

And most sources require signature, because people would try to scam them and say they didn't recieve a pack that they recieved. Source can say "Yes you did, you signed for the pack"

This. I have good friends in LE although I don't talk to them about gear. The bottom line is for as ignorant as you think they are they will have most their ducks in a row if they want to get you. They will not pack up and say oh well simply by refusing the package. That was a myth a long time ago by some "bro lawyers" back in the day. I posted this in another thread but usually if they are going to spend some money getting you they want to get some good publicity out of it as well. That's why you hear about big raids on meth labs but very little on small street busts. Not to say they will not come after you for a personel order but I just find it highly unlikely they will. I have not heard of someone getting their door kicked in or a controlled delivery for having an overseas pack snagged. If a big fish were busted and some people snitched then yes a personel user may get a visit.

I really think a controlled delivery for "small fish" orders like most of us are placing is unlikely. Now you start ordering hundreds of DVDs for resale (like a domestic op) and you run the risk of being big enough to validate a controlled delivery. As for non domestic, most issues with customs for a small fry order would entail a simple seizure and a letter. Only the very largest orders would be worthy of the resources needed for a controlled delivery. The federali really aren't concerned with your $500 order. CD is the last phase of a ongoing investigation. If you get a CD you were already on their radar for your abnormally large goodie packs. Please educate me if these conclusions are way off.

Obviously, this is all hypothetical role play related to the movie Snitch. ;-) I have yet to see it.

And that, my friend, is EXACTLY what they will do. I remember reading a post on another board, a guy got a controlled delivery of just personal amounts of gear. He also ordered some ketamine with it (Dumb fuck) I think the ketamine is what got him a controlled delivery because its narcotic

Lets say you hire an escort off of craigslist or backpage and you asked her if she was law enforcement or affiliated with law enforcement and she said NO can you still get busted?

Thats why you go the domestic route. Ive never had to sign for anything, and I will refuse to if asked. Simply not worth it.
