I've heard many say nolva will not lower estrogen, it will just cause estrogen to not attach to the sites in the nipple region. If thats the case, then how could nolvadex inhibit muscle gains? You could take tons of it and if it only blocks the chest site, and wont lower overall estrogen, then technically the amount you take wont matter right?...

It lowers IGF-1 levels. So that is one mechanism whereby it might have a negative effect. Though some research says systemic IGF-1 really isn't that anabolic. Opinions vary here but we know that growth hormone by itself isn't anabolic so the increase in IGF-1 isn't really causing muscle growth.

SERM's like Nolva also have selective actions, in some tissues they can act like estrogen (brain and bone for example), but in others it inhibits estrogenic actions. No one really knows how important estrogen is as far as anabolism is concerned so it's hard to know if Nolva inhibits gains or not. Most don't really notice reduced gains when they incorporate it.
