Sometimes when I am working out or walking in the gym, you get guys that eye fuck you. Well there were some guys behind me last night they were probaly 190 lbs or so, lean, and had a nice built. Well, when I go to the gym I bust my ass and give it all i have. I have been concentrating on my form and working the negatives as much as possible to hit my body at a different angle than from powerlifting. Being 160 lb I catch a lot of shit sometimes about being skinny. But I just wanted to rant a little bit here:

If you guys (no one inparticular) do not have anything good to say, please shut your mouth.

Reason why: I was focusing on my form with lighter weight and not to mention that certain parts of my body are skinny; such as the area around my knees. But these guys eye fuck me and I here one of them say "no wonder he is so small, look how much he is lifting, hes weak and skinny"

Since I am in the gym for MYSELF and no body fuckin else, I did not loose my temper or even cause a scene. I simply look up and said "Yeah, your right" and continued on with my workout.

But some guys just do not have the potential as others may do, and this is the crap that we hear sometimes.

I hear that, Small town. It sounds like our builds are exact opposites. Im about 225 or so at 5'10 at 17 - 18 percent bf depending on who or whats measuring. Ive got some endomorph in me, where basically I hold all my excess fat in the spare tire section. I lift heavy, and train intensely, but I get the "gut" comments all the time, even though I outlift and outpace the guys usually saying it. It will always be those casual lifters that are 190 or so with good genetics and zero work ethic that make those comments dude. As long as you resist the urge to kill them with a plate, you'll be good lol.:D

I feel you bro, i used to get "eye fucked" all the time. I'm sure everyone gets it all the time. they are haters and haters live off of jealousy. I mean look at how much you achieved bro! i'm sure there are lots of people here inspired by u, esp. me!! I admire that u stood up for urself too, show them ur not no bitch. keep your head up like u've always been doin, brush these scrubs off your shoulders. next time you see them just remember the song "HI HATER!!"

Forget those guys. As you said your there for yourself. Keep focusing on yourself, form and mind muscle connection. When I go to train, that is exactly what I do. I have a lot of friends at the gym that want to chat....they must think I am a dick because I start training and don't talk nor listen to their conversations. When I walk in to the gym...it's go time no time to fuck off. I see these idiots using super heavy weights and not a bit of proper form. There loss and no gain for them and probaly going to injure themselves! Keep training hard and soon those guys will be saying holy shit that guy is a monster!
 
They just do that to make themselves feel better. They should respect that we all go to the gym for different reasons. Bottom line we all go to the gym to look better and stay healthy. I look better than 95% of the people at my gym, but they don't know it and I don't act like it. I wear a sweatshirt and workout pants, even in the summer. Keep you head up bro.

Phillips. I have been to Brians Gym and lifted with them several times. He has some good guys over there. Joe, Mitch, Daniel are great group of guys. We would traing on Sunday mornings.

But I dont mind going in there and say hey to some friends, but I am not going to carry on a conversation unless its about training/diet. Just me.

it's funny that they say that. especially when how big you get has more to do with diet and not nearly as much to do with training. anyone can bust their ass in the gym.

I agree 100%. The best change I've made lately is wearing a baggy t-shirt and a thick hoody when I train. Put some headphones on and the hood up and everybody leaves you the fuck alone.

The Golds in Altamonte makes me vomit. I quit that place 3 years ago before moving to MIA, but now that I live part time in WP again, I may check out your gym.

I did like the cardio theater... when they played Rocky, MI3, Casino Royale, Etc... but when the little lesbian trainer got in charge of the movie selection, all that was shown were movies like Freedom Writers, etc.. Hard to stomach 45 minutes on the treadmill while you have to watch that crap lol!

Do you know if they've renovated the RDV in the last couple of years?

I would'nt let those fuckers worry you mate. It happens in gym too and I eye ball the fuck out of them back and spread my lats and give them the body language look, what the fuck you looking at?

Who cares what other people think in the gym. I give them the Branch Warren look and give them the middle finger LOL !!
 
People who talk shit often do so because they are projecting their own insecurities.
 
Some ppl ask me how/why I can wear a hooded sweat shirt when I train at the gym no matter what the weather is like outside.

For 2 reasons. One it keeps me covered so no one really knows what is under it...if they dont know...they cant comment.

Reason 2---For the hood...I wear it up with a hat...I pull the hat down low over my eyes and the hood over it...this way I dont make much eye contact with anyone...the less eye contact you make with ppl the less chance that they will start a convo with you.

I also always have my head phones in my ears...this way you dont hear the stupid comments that ppl may make. The less you hear the better you can focus on your training. Even if I dont have my Ipod on I still keep my head phones in cause ppl will think twice about coming up to me to talk. There were a few times I forgot my Ipod so I stuck a extra pair of head phones I had in my gym bag...I would stick the end you plud into the Ipod in the pocket of the hoodie so it still looked like I was listening to something lol.

I def. dont want to come off as an asshole at the gym but I made the mistake of making friends with alot of the memebers (Mostly talking about regular ppl who train cause hardcore guys/girls know better then you bother someone when training) at past gyms I have trained at and alot of ppl felt comfortable enough to come up and start a convo right in the middle of my training. I'm still very friendly I just keep it to the locker room or out in the parking lot.

Anyway just thought I would share a few tips that has worked well for me in this situation.

I do the exact same thing with my ipod, music playing or not. I cant workout in a long sleeve shirt or anything with a hood though, I get way too hot if I do. Im always hot (I keep my house at 64 year round, drives the wife crazy)

RDV Sportsplex in Maitland.

Not the most hardcore gym, but the cleanest and best appointed. All the equipment and machines are immaculately maintained, etc. Excellent place to workout.
