You guessed it right Dog. They are bothering me from the higher rep scheme I am doing, I might also get away from the leg extensions and start hitting leg presses. I think the leg ext are what's bothering them, not too sure but I will see after taking them out for a couple weeks.

Generally speaking, leg ext. are very tough on the tendons and ligaments of the knee... If you want some quad work may I humbly suggest 1 leg squats w/db's or power-lunges.

Have you ever done close stance squats?? I am thinking that they might be hard on the knees as well. I use to do leg presses but many people consider them to be "ego" builders and not quad builders. Any thoughts there either??

Close stance squats can be hard on the knees especially if you let your knees push forward over your feet (which is typically how it has to happen from a mechanical pont of view). I know a lot of folks don't like leg presses, but maybe a variant? Coan does them one leg at a time, theory being you can concentrate on the quad fully? I've never tried them but they seem to work well for him.

I actually like the lunges with the SSB... usually fries my quads fully.

legpresses with one leg at a time rocks. I have never gotten such a good deep soreness in my quads from anything else then that.

BELT SQUATS...???
BIG PAUL, do u have access to a good belt squat, like the Parillo or we even welded together a pretty good one, no rolling handle, but didnt like that anyway. It lets u put an amazing pump on your legs, takes the lower back out of it and also did a real good job of healing my knees up. Why??, I dont know, maybe the increased blood supply to the knees??
Helps my strength out of the hole on squats and explosion on deadlift. At the bottom youre in the perfect postion for deadlifts of a block.

I wish I did have access to one, it sounds like something that might work for me. I will however stick to the one legged leg presses for a bit and see what happens. Thanks for your 2 cents.
