Got inspired about benefits of vitamin C i totally forgot about it until a recent post by Phil.

I got to thinking that there are probably tons of things I dont know about that support good health

some things off the top my head

-vitamin c
-Humanofort
-EFA's
-fiber

but what else ?

Yeah, I also use saw palmetto and garlic caps. Garlic is supposed to help strengthen arteries/veins. I used to have terrible nose bleeds when I was a kid and my good old family doctor started me on garlic back then. The nose bleeds went away. When I stop taking it for a few months, they come right back, so, I don't stop it now!

Good list of helpful supplements. I'm not a big fan of saw palmetto myself. Everytime I have used it,,,even various brands,,,it makes my nipples tender and sore.

all good stuff, but I gotta throw Olive Leaf extract into the mix... the stuff is amazing, especially if you feel yourself getting sick or have sinus issues.

Interesting since I am very sensitive to E and P and saw palmetto does not have that effect on me.

Interesting.I am not a fan of saw palmetto either but for a different reason. It made my stool incredibly hard,i thought i was having prostate problems.I stopped the saw and my stool returned to normal.Thinking this was just a coincidence i started it back up an again 2 days later stool was rock hard.We put all these supplements in our body thinking they will have a positive impact and sometimes it works just the opposite.

You were very fortunate to have a doctor that would suggest something to help you besides a pharmaceutical. Wish i could find that around here. But yeah, i just slice some garlic up and pop it in the oven and bake it for a few minutes. Ive also noticed less nosebleeds. Another benefit is that it's sulfuric properties probably help fight stomach cancer, much like onions.

Hawthorn berry, cranberry extract (kidneys, heart health, BP)
Liv 52/NAC/Milk Thistle (Liver)
Low-dose daily aspirin (heart)
Vit D, Vit C, fish oil (a myriad of benefits...I use year-round)
Cissus, Glucosamine (joint health)
Niacin, Garlic (lipids)

I know this is a thread discussing supplements, but what shouldn't be overlooked is the importance of DIET and CARDIO for overall health.

Do you all follow the recommended dosage for these products? Or do you find a different dosage to be beneficial?
