i was wondering about adding massive amounts of sushi to my diet. the resturant i work at can order me the sushi grade fish and i know how to make it at home. i was thinking of somewhere around adding a pound to a pound and a half of the raw fish, mostly tuna, salmon, and crab with some shrimp here and there. is the white rice ok? is there anyone else who does this? im asking because im getting sick of eggs and i can eat sushi all day i love the stuff. keep in mind im going to compete for the first time in may.

When you say "masive amounts" I hope that means "more" of seafood and not "tons" correct? :D Even seafood should be eatin in moderate amounts. Some is good for you. Heavy loads of it is not. Depending on the fish their mercury levels to iodine levels tend to run high. Also white rice is nothing more then a filler food. It really has no nutritional value. Better to go with some brown rice or even better- sweet potatoes, mexicam yams, wheat or whole grain pasta.

90% of the seafood in the US is from china, I know that's hard to beleive and anytime they test the chinese seafoods they find a lot of banned substances and contaminants in them so I'd be warry of making sushi my staple. Go in the sotre and look where the crabmeats are from and shrimp.
Sad what we americans do to save a $$.

Mmmmm....sushi. Try making it with brown rice instead. Id use salmon and tuna only, maybe some shrimp and crab meat now and then. I think its a great preworkout food, gives some energy without filling you up too much.

ahh yes but its good to live by the ocean. our seafood dist. at the resturant only sells locally caught fish, thats not hard to do seeing as how i live only a block from the beach and 2 blocks from the bay, in the summer i catch all my own crabs, lol $20 on a couple of traps and $5 a week for bait and you have more fresh crabmeat than you can eat. by the way which fish have alot if mercury and iodine?

Cool that leaves the china thingy out.
You could try an all or mostly sushi diet for a while but I think people tire eventually of all foods if eaten often, so it's good to switch back.
Tuna is high in mercury and some other fishes you can find out more if you search on the mercury content and fish.

i was mainly thinking of it as an add on. it doesnt really fill me up and i can eat tons of it in one sitting. i was reading about putting weight on after your genetic max is reached and the article said that your body can grow new muscle only if you give it gigantic quantities of material to do it with. so i was hoping to break the 9K calorie mark. i figure if i wake up an hour early and stay up an extra hour at night while still getting 8 hrs sleep i can fit in another 2 meals.

you don't need gigantic amounts of materials to grow optimally just the right mounts of nutrients which yes is a lot more food than the normal person but 9000 calories will male even the hardest training bb'er fat over time.
I don't know whp's spreading the BS about these 9-10 K diets again it's nonsense.
If I eat 600 grams of protein which is way more than enough for 280-300 lber, that's only 2400 cals then I have to eat another say 1200 grams of carbs to get 4800 more and then that's 7200 so I still have to eat more and that's clean foods..
Most people eating huge amounts mix processed foods carbs fats and proteins in on meals and that's where they get fat. Eating is tough not man can sit here day in day out and eat thousands of cals for chicken rice and beef and pots staying clean and keeping the cals way up. food prep and time is a big factor.
How much do you weigh? And what is this genetic limit you speak of?

as of thismorning im 183 theres a pic of me in the dave q&a thread at i think 170. when i said genetic limits i meant how big your body can get naturally, where you peak. its been a long time since ive used aas and i dont want to do that again until i hit a point where ive been training for a year without gaining a pound. but for now im going to try everything else i can. i was however verry tempted to try to get in 2 cycles before may 21st. id like to avoid that.

at this weight you don't need that much food to grow !!
