Yes, I did a search and read alot and saw some pics of some of his clients. My question is how many guys on here have tried his program and how many loved it or doing it now that can say its worth the money and would do it again. Also do you have to buy alot of stuff off of his site to get it to work? I am wanting to try it and i am and will be on a cycle will he have a problem discussing that with me on my diet and work out routine. Please feedback from guys that have or is using his program now or know someone who has?

MAYBE you only been lifting for a short time maybe for years do have knee problems, back problems shoulder problems. do need to lose BF do you need to gain weight.

he will mold your deit and supps, and workout to your needs and to how your body responds.
if you need some thing he sells fine he has good products.

an all money well spent.

I am glad that you asked this

I trained under Phil for 2 years and in that time I learned more about myself, bodybuilding, nutrition, training, supplements then I did in my 20+ years of training previous to that. Because of what I learned from Phil I was able to start my own business training other people, so it turned out to be a very wise investment. As far as my physique I feel like I made dramatic improvments under Phil. Every contest that I competed in under his prep I got better each time. For the sake of my development I am experimenting with some other things, not because I think they are better methods then Phil's but to give myself a real life understanding of how these effect me and how I could possibly use these on clients in the future. I consider Phil Hernon as my mentor and myself "Phil Hernon Certified" and in my training of Clients today, my training method is heavily influenced by all I learned from Phil.

In closing I think of all the great benefits that I got from training under Phil non was better then in Phil the friend that I got for life. I know that I can pick up the phone at anytime and Phil would help me with anything and I hope he knows that I would do the same for him.

I would highly recommend you choose Phil as your trainer but this is very important, look at the big picture. Don't think of things like is this guy going to get me peeled? or big as a house? If you are willing to take the punishment, any trainer can beat you half to death and starve, cycle, and suffer you into striations but what then? What did you learn? How can you use this for the rest of your life? There are only a few that are willing to teach you and Phil is a teacher to those that want to learn.

like the old saying "give the man a fish and feed him for the day but teach him to fish and feed him for a lifetime".

If youre interested in numbers...

Since I started with Phil 2 years ago, here is what has happened:

Bench: added 135lbs
Weighted Dips: added 200lbs
Squats: added 100lbs (I hurt my lwr back being stupid)
Weighted Pullups: added 90lbs

Oh, and I love LBAs.

Yes, I almost forgot

and I almost forgot I love **broken link removed** as well. The only place that I trust to get authentic Emeric Delczeg's Humanofort.

Good thread! For the ones who have trained with Phil, was this "natrual" or enhanced? I referring to OTC as well. Such as hormonal compounds.

.

Lets focus on our experiences working with PHIL HERNON.

Thanks for the fed back. I just dont want a cookie cutter diet. I want to cut a good 25 lbs and get stronger. I just dont want to be beat into shape. I am lookin for a lifestyle change with the right taylor made for me plan

Hey me too. I like the way you put that. Very Nice

Thank you. That really what it is tho. a lifestyle change. you can go from 4 % body fat to 24% and turn into a fat ass alot easier than you think. I played college ball and kickboxed and was always in shape at 185 lbs at about 10 or 11 percent body fat. A year ago I woke up 248 lbs and 27%. just by changing my lifestyle. kids and a desk job late dinners not eating right not excercising etc. I want my phsique back and I want to get it the way thats best for me. I am now at 215lbs and plateuing so its time for some pro help.

me too. I fought for Lafayette Lawson (world champ kick boxer) for 3 years as a amateur many years ago and then went on a life of partying etc. Had a successful restaurant and ate and drank and ate and drank. Then had a child and bam i am 268 and a fat ass. I kinda just let myself go. I have always lifted all my life but I have been training hard for a year. I haven't been eating right and all those gains are masked by the beer i used to drink. For the last two weeks I have changed that and lost eight pounds. Still got 32 more to go. feel you bro........

You can do it. We can do it. We are all works in progress.

I can't imagine being able to find an ifbb pro willing to put up with so much bullshit from trainees for so little money.

It says a lot about the sad state of affairs in bodybuilding when people at this level are so incredibly cheap and accessible.

A local wannabe bosu ball trainer costs more and usually does irrepairable harm.

Trainers like Phil, and the other national class competitors on this board offer far more value for the dollar than just about anything I can think of other than the price of a good barbell and weights.

... That said I personally find the process of self discovery to be very satisfying and I enjoy learning, being wrong, correcting, etc. This isn't the shortest path but for me this is a hobby. If I was more goal oriented this would provide far better results than spending the money on test.

I was with him in 2006 and I still train with his routine. But as a natural it is often to much for me although it is low volume.

from my point of view

Phil was very kind and sweet...and yes patient:)..I often think of him as the teacher that he is.

he never once not answer a question, an email or a call.........of course, I did not bother him....much:)

I learned alot as well, and did get in the best shape I had ever been up to that point, and felt great, full of energy all the time....

Phil was my buddy for my first ever show (really) He was there in spirit, in calls, in excitement, it was actually really cool:)

in case I didnt thank you enough last year for my first two shows....THANKS PHIL!!

I echo the same things others on here have said about Phil. He is a teacher and takes time to educate you. He will explain things to you if you ask questions, as long as you respect him and dont questions everything he tells you. SOme people have troulbe with trusting a trainer, and with Phil you need to put trust in what he says. He will get you results. I had trained 20+ yrs before coming to Phil and he had me growing on a much lower dose of supplements than I had previously had to take. He keeps things so simple that sometimes it scares you.
He was always tellng me to lay off all the sauce I was taking, and I did listen to him for the most part. Its a good thing too because I ended up having a heart attack 2 years ago and I think I might have died if I had been doing the doses I had in the past.

For what you are looking for...Phil is perfect.

My experience with Phil

I've been training with Phil for the last few months. In this short period of time I've increased my bench and dips by 40 lbs for reps (both done Hernon style..maybe change of form was what increased them haha)

Although I haven't gotten close enough to Phil to call him a good friend, I can definitely say he's a great mentor. And I hope over the years I can gain from his insights for the fitness industry and god forbid maybe even get to PHONE call him :).

Phil will not have long e-mail threads with you discussing every detail or the merits of another program/routine. He lets you discover it.
I'm passionate about training and seeing how different routines stack up so I often try fruitlessly to glean wisdom from Phil so at first, that made me just more inquisitive and anal about understanding all this and that, and why so and so bodybuilding "science-backed" principles/bro-dogma/etc. weren't as effective. ...yet truth be told, my efforts were fruitful because I'm understanding what matters rather than delving into what don't...

I should have my blinders on and focus on understanding and APPLYING the simple but profound (i.e. experience/results backed) principles of Phil. This is someone who has a stable of successful bodybuilding clients and who is himself known for putting on mass exceedlingly quickly even among his pro rank/peers...

His e-mails are frank and concise and often avoids detailed or elaborate "theorizing". In this way then, you're not paralyzed by analysis...in fact it's not really about analysis...the road is paved by hard work and experience; and who is better to set you on course than Phil?

Go with Phil. 250/year is less than a few month's protein supplement cost (if you use it ha ha). Good luck.
