Those vacume food savers

I was looking into getting one of these things ,and was wondering if anyone here has experiance with them?Do they even work as far as keeping food fresh and keeping my meat from being freezer burnt?I see they run from $50-$200 and wanted to know if the more expensive ones really perform better ,or just have more cheap plastic gadgets to break?Thanx

i remember a buddy of mine used to get some gear sent to him in those vacuum sealed bags.....

i was actually thinking about getting one because i like to buy steak in bulk and that would be perfect for keep it fresh....

i seen one on an informercail a while back that looked pretty damn good, but i dont remember the name... plus it was late and i was drunk,, who knows how good it actually was. haah

They work, but depending on how much you use them there were a couple problems. Mainly one, but my buddy used his more than anyone could. The heating element burnt out and didn't seal the bags. But like I said he used them alot and it wasn't for food... he sent super high potent smelly stuff through the mail in these bags and no one ever knew. So they do work. It also helps to marinate food with one of the attachments.
