kamali does not do hit...beside dorian, i believe kiwi performs a hit type workout. phil does low volume but, not hit ...big a does hit and loves it..but, the vast majority of pros perform high volume...if you run down the top 10 in the olympia, no one performs hit.. but, that could change at any time..
Not really a comment about HIT, but more of a general observation about the pro's training routines that I'd like to add.
I know a few pros personally, and I've trained with them, and it seems to me most of them are just not training in a manner conductive to growth anymore. Except from one of the guys I know, who's up-and-coming and just got his pro card last year, I know the way they train now is NOT the way they trained in the years they built their muscle mass! They may like to think they've found a better way etc, because no one likes to admit they're wasting their time, but it's not. How many pros do you actually see growing from year to year? Very few. Why? They're getting close to their limits, sure, but I'm also convinced it's at least in part because they've abandonded the hard and basic training that made them huge in the first place, and replaced it with high volume "refining" training etc.
I'm willing to put down a lot of money that at least some of the top dogs trained with briefer, more intense workouts during the years they've actually built real muscle, and later changed the workouts into the high-volume, low intensity style you see them doing now.
Just my thoughts anyway.
