It is a day of bad news for me, I went to the doctor this morning and he declares that I torn my right pec. Has anyone here had this surgery before? How long were you out before you could train again?
not sure if you asking him or me but yes, flat bench barbell. of which i never felt comfortable doing but was brainwashed into thinking that is what i had to do.
Ive hurt my chest before on flat bench by going down too fast with heavy weight..sucked.. but just to let you know i know a few bros who had complete pec tears and to my suprise they came back BIGGER and STRONGER!!!
You hit it right on the head, Flat barbell bench press. Not a heavy set at all I was actually doing my second set which was 275, I usually finish with 315.

How long before they could get back into the gym and lift again ( well chest, back, and shoulders). The doctor told me I would be able to train arms and legs for at least 6 months. This makes me real depress, I was doing so good I was on the right track. I was training this offseason to compete this summer.
jcmule, really sorry to hear this. I have never had that injury but I have had some bad ones. Just keep your mind busy and stay active with whatever you can do safely (keeps that metabolism going which helps the healing process) until you get back in the gym.

Thanks bro, I will still train legs and arms (if possible) since I cant do chest, back, or shoulders until further notice, I guess its a good time to add in a good ab workout into the routine. I will stick to the offseason diet and hope I don't lose too much. Should you stay on supplements?
