Trophic Level?

Does anyone here know anything about Trophic Level? Supposedly the more metabolically efficient you are the less calories you need to survive, grow, etc. I believe there is some truth to this especially if you look at diets posted by some of our featured members. Jethro Tull posted his contest prep diet and it was about 2000 cals a day, but he competed at over 250. Gooey posted his diet which was basically only protein and vegetables and I think it totalled out to around 2300 cals, but look at him.

Anyone have any input or experience with this?

I am not on either of their levels but when I diet down, I eat around 2500 cals per day and thats with doing cardio twice per day and lifting. Bodyweight around 230. I dont drop much weight at that point either.

Right now I am eating 4500 cals daily average...gaining a little bit of weight. I am 245 as of this morning.

See, I'm talking more about someone who can gain off of 2500 cals a day at your size because there metabolism is so efficient. You still basically have to cut 2000 calories from your daily diet and do cardio twice per day to lean up.

For example, If you look at Ronnie Coleman in the Cost of Redemption video, he eats like 4 times but weighs in at 315.
