Ultrasound Therapy for muscles and ligaments

got a quick question. I went to the chiropracter a few weeks ago for some soreness I had in my back and one of the nurses put icyhot all over my lower back and did some ultrasound therapy for about 15 minutes. It made my back feel amazing! I had a pulled muscle in my back and I really think it sped up the healing time. I was thinking about buying one of those ultrasound devices on the internet and using it the next time I had an issue with a strained muscle. Those devices can be bought for about $70 and up. Anyone ever use ultrasound to help speed healing of strained muscles? If so, which ultrasound device do you use and what was the cost?
