USPS (lost mail??)

Have any of you guys ever had a package just disapear through the postal system domestically? Is this really possible? what about with express?

ive seen it happen before..... was it goods being sent to you or you sent something to a person? is it the tracking number that tells you the package is lost or thats what a postal worker has told you?

long story man, I think I got scammed by someone, but his reputation is so great It seems hard to beleive..

I've seen it during the holiday season when there so much mail traffic. Priority mail will be lost for 2 weeks "in the system" and won't show up as delivered on the tracking 3 days after you already have it.....but if you have a LONG story, then who knows.

Sorry to hear about it.

This same exact thing happened to a good friend of mine that lives out in NYC. He ordered 2 seperate packages from eastern europe and only one of them made it.

Tracks & usps

If it was sent from a mailing depot store then most of the time it isnt scanned on the sending end - Only get scanned on the delivery end. The reason why is - the mailing store doesnt have scanners and when usps comes to pick them up, they do not take them back to the post office desk and scan them, they simply put them in the direction they are going and they get scanned on the delivery end.
Ask and post office worker - they will tell you that.
MOST sources will not mail straight from a post office because (other then cameras everywhere) that is where postal inspector lurk - by taking it to a mailing depot it puts a barrier between you and the postal inspector because the mailing store employee cant open your pack like a postal inspector can.
I just sent a "test" package (Pictures - nothing illegal) to a friend to prove that it doesnt get scanned on the mailing end when sent from a mailing depot - it was delivered and the only tracks that showed where the delivery date and time.

Second, if the mailer puts the amount of stamps for priority confirmation on the pack and drops it in the out side box of a post office, it will do the same -just show scanned on the delivery end.

Is it lost? Well... in 6 years i have honestly see 2 packs just get lost. One was ups - never showed up, never tracked. I know it was sent because i am the person who sent it (nothing illegal, just a christmas gift).
The other was with usps. I tend to believe the packs where stolen by employees. They dont just disappear.
Nether package tracked... neither was delivered.

BOTH TIMES where after sept 11th and the invention of "Homeland security".

i've had an ebay pack get lost then re-routed showed up 2 weeks late, but it indeed scanned out and said what was happening.

Never had any packages disappear, but it sure would be friggin' nice if they lost all the bills comin' my way...

DAVE 19 I hear that ..I worked with a guy for almost 3 years out of Mexico and he went bad on me the last few times we talked..orders came up short a few times...so i found a new guy out of NY city...and he f 'ed me the first time and he had a good rep and referal list...my guy now is the best..i send no funds up front...product then funds.....

It is possible. My wife sells a lot of items on ebay. She recently sold some books and printed the usps label from ebay. Wrapped them and attached the label. About a month or so later the label was sent to us and had been completely cut of with a razor or something. The post office said they found it discarded with the books gone. Some fucker at the post office has a bunch of books on water painting. It's pretty obvious as the pack was personally dropped off at the post office, so after they got it an employee had to have cut the label and took the books. Fortunately it was only about $10 worth of goods and not anything else.

i work for fedex and we do not check packages and it is illegal for anybody to search our trucks on the road. It is common for any delivery company to lose 2% of shipments. some worse than others depending on location. One warning to all, we (drivers) know that it is very hard to detect sending illegal substances through delivery services so I look every day for a free present,and I know ur mail guys do too so dont use the same service everytime and change up everything. if it is not insured I only pay $100 for a stolen or misdelivered package so it is worth it. sent 5K one time and the only thing that got there was the packaging, sent it to my brother in AZ. Watch out!!

Thats exactly rite.
Ive treid to explain to guys so many time before
that there is a differance in a deleivery confirmation# and a track#.
99% of the time priority only shows when and where it was deleivered...
AND if its a wrong addy or returned etc etc..It will show upadates on that as well.
Ive seen some delayed and some 'supposadly' stolen or tampered with
But Never just lost one completeley.
