Came across a very interesting study on insulin and felt i should share.
The study focuses on insulin poisoning with a high percentage of patients taking fast acting insulin dosages 138-525iu or longing acting insulin with dosages ranging from 170-1300iu.
The main worry... side effects from an insulin overdose is brain damage with some of these patients experiencing it and also death.(You could say That these two are probably intertwined).
Another very interesting and the most important part of this study was the outcome of insulin poisoning wasnt actually determined by how much insulin youve taken or overdosed by (As you would think) but actually how fast the overdose is treated,
Treatment after six hours will play a major factor in determining the outcome of your overdose..Treatment before six hours turns the odds in your favour extremely.......so getting yourself treated especially in the in the first six hours of your insulin shot could and probably will save your life.
Heres the link **broken link removed**
