Very quick intra-workout question

So usually for intra I use 30g isolate with 40g dextrose.
Not perfect but I'm not getting fat and I feel it helps.

Today I changed it up and just used some Country Time Lemonade 36g carbs but all from sugar and fructose.

Question:
A. Do you think including the isolate is a "must have" or not?
B. Do you think the type of sugar matters?
 
Actually whey hydrolyzed absorbs faster. But isolate works fine. Eaas even faster.

I don't. Karbolyn may seem better on sitting in stomach than dextose but not totally sure so I ve been mixing them. But to go into muscles, no
 
The carbs really don't matter as long as they digest well for your. Personally I'd prefer the fastest digestion carb possible to create an insulin spike while training.

As for the protein
I think that at least having amino would significantly benefit over just carbs , some EAA are very easy to digest and absorb far more than whey.
 
HBCD is the best carb source to use as its very light on the stomach versus dextrose or maldextrin or any simple sugars which can/will sit in your stomach and can create some uncomfortability - they draw blood into the stomach to be digested, that's bloodflow drawn away from the muscle being trained. As for protein during the workout - peptopro or EEA's are prefered over anything else. I do think it matters, it does all make a difference - in reality it is all entirely dependant on your dispospal income and how much you are willing to spend for optimal training/results.

Exactly how does it help you?

My opinion you don’t need one unless you are severely dieting or you are big as a house (not fat) and working out intensely for hours at a time which excludes 99.9 percent of the bodybuilding population.

Put hey, if it works for you go for it.
 
I’ve used hbcd, karbolyn, glucose syrup, Gatorade, dextrose etc.
the only difference I’ve noticed between them is in my wallet.
My intra is 4 scoops humapro and either body armor or regular Gatorade.
If you digest it well and it doesn’t bother your stomach it’s fine.

If I’m not mistaken in the DC dvd with Justin Harris he’s drinking whey isolate and Gatorade.

Why..... Millions of answers that you can find on Google. Dextrose and whey are not the way to go for intra.
Why? Dextrose and isolate are both very easily and quickly digested.
 
I personally like peptopro, hydro whey, scoop eaa, 50g karboload. By the time I finish my workout I've had a meal. By lunch time I'm on meal 3. Ever since adding this intra to my routine my results have increased. One of the best things I did for my diet.
 
i did really well using insulin pre ( no gh at time) for 4 months and intra drink was gatorade (big one) + pink salt+EAAS and 5g creatine , taxed my kidney tho
 
I never used intra for my first few decades of training and did well. The last year or 2 i have used them but EAA + honey (as it is sitting on my counter) and don't seem to slow down as much at the end of my workouts. If you digest the carb well you are using it should be fine i would think. and if protein is being taken in a couple times before working out the type of protein probably doesn't matter either. As there is aminos floating around all the time.

Taxed your kidney? What how do u equate kidney taxing to this combo
 
For me I use

Intra 60g cyclic dextrin/20g EAAs/2g sea salt

Post 60g cyclic dextrin/ 60g hydrolysed whey isolate

forgot to include organic local raw honey, i would do that inside too, didnt mix well so a lot of times id take a few squeezes in car right before walking in
 
I would recommend EAA's and HBCD's but any carbs will be fine as long as you digest them well and they don't effect your training. I personally like HBCD's and/or honey for intra carbs.
