I was gunna be one of these discs...prolly the one about buying and selling on ebay.

Its "free" but like 8 bucks or something for the shipping...is it worth getting..anyone have a good experience with the stuff???

I really REALLY need to get selling online down to a tee because I got a lot of stuff I need to get rid of

Selling on ebay is pretty simple.. The MAIN most important thing is your title, cuz this is how people find your item.. You can never put enough info in the title, and you wanna be as descriptive as possible and have as many "hit" words in there as you can fit.. For example my buddy had an expensive purse from his ex-gf, and I was helping him list it.. I had him put something "brown fur suede coach purse handbag tote", so that way typing any combination of those words is gonna bring it up in a search query.. Definitely no misspellings and make sure everything is spaced properly..

Secondly you wanna make sure you have a good camera to take pics with.. Make the pics look as professional as possible, framed perfectly, on a neutral background like a white or black sheet.. You wanna have a nice full view pic that will show up on the search query, and then throw a couple more in that show details if necessary..

Then on the description just hype it up, while still being honest.. Some people will go to other websites to get the actual technical specs on the item to put there, but depending on what it is, that's not necessary sometimes.. If the item has a serial or model numbers, you wanna throw those in there too.. Maybe use a big font, colored if you want, and just make it look good.

Some items just sell themselves on Ebay, like video games and some types of electronics - you don't have to go overboard on the listing and you're still gonna get solid money for it.. And lastly, if the item is something that you KNOW is gonna sell good, you don't have to put a high starting price on the auction.. You can actually search completed listings for items to see what they've going for.. So if you kno your item is definitely gonna bring in a certain amount, just start it at 99 cents, which will get the action started quickly with alot of bids and people watching the auction.. You actually get charged more money if you put a high amount to start anyways.. Starting it at 99 cents may not be a good idea for certain items tho that people aren't regularly searching for, and someone could end up getting a huge steal on it.. What people do other times, is make a "buy it now" price, which is an amount they're willing to let it go for, without any bidding.. And again you can see what items have been going for by searching completed listings..

Thanks alot bro..appreciate that!

One thing that turns me off from buying something from someone, is when they either do NOT list shipping or the shipping is outrageous.

$15 to ship a PS2 game? Get real.

Might want to take that into consideration as well. Also, make sure you have a PayPal account. A lot of people won't big unless you can accept PayPal.

if you know anyone with an ebay account who sells a lot of stuff you may want to use them. when soneone buys something, one of the things they look at is the seller feedback rating. it shows how many transactions you have made and each person who trades with you can leave a postive or negative feedback. for example a person may have sold 2500 items with a 99.8% positve feedback, you can be assured when buying from that person that you will probably have a good eperience. as a new seller you wont have any feedback, a potential buyer may look for the same item from a person with a better rating.

The reason ppl do that is b/c ebay dicks you with fees based on the amount of $ it sold for...they dont count shipping..so you get a PS2 game for 99 cent and 15 bucks shipping..you get the game and the seller doesn't get fucked.

RonJon...you can DL that for free FYI.save some money.

They don't screw you that badly. When I was selling on there, it was barely even worth raising the shipping cost to make any difference.

Better to sell something and eat an extra $0.50 than not sell it at all.

Yea they kinda do screw you...listing fees..plus final value fees...ect.
I'd rather just list the shipping higher..it adds up like you said an extra .50 is better than nothing. ;)

That's not allowed anymore.. You MUST have a shipping fee listed, and if you're selling a video game, you can't charge more than $5 shipping.. I remember I was helping my little brother sell his guitar hero game, and it was telling me I couldn't charge more than $5 for shipping, and I'm thinking what the hell, this isn't JUST the game, it's also 2 guitars and will be a big package.. What happened, was I wasn't allowed to list it as a video game so I could charge the actual $10 shipping..

The outrageous shipping thing does not really happen anymore on there.. Sellers are finally getting the hint that Free Shipping is way more attractive to a buyer, and that's what tons of people are doing now..
