I am kinda new to online advertising for my buisness. I feel I can get alittle better work through online advertising.

Anyone can give me an pointers or tell me how to get around the high cost of a website designer...

Can someone just give me an outline I need to follow and some website I should look up?

I know it sounds silly but I know some of you on here have you own websites and I just hope you could give me a little helping hand with direction...

Being a web designer myself, I would def recommend Dreamweaver.

However, I would also recommend, for the sake of simplicity as well as visual quality to research CSS (Cascading Style Sheets).

By combining those two you will be able to create a visually appealing website in no time.

Web Design

Adobe Dreamweaver is probably the top of the line in software used to design webpages.

However, there are other steps necessary in getting a web page up, from selecting a web-hosting company, to preparing any graphics you want on your site, to maintaining the site. It gets a little more complicated if you want it to be interactive with features such as online ordering or any input by the viewer.

When you select a web-hosting company, start off with the larger companies because they frequently provide pre-designed templates you can use. Ask them about providing support & how much web-design services cost. They probably will not provide support for the free templates. If you are completely new to web pages, I would either get someone with minimal experience to help, or hire the hosting company's services. Another alternative is **broken link removed**, which is the bare minimum with no support.

If you are going to use photos & graphics, you'll need a graphics program. Here's an article from the Washington Post reviewing some of the free software that's available.

i thought macromedia made dreamweaver.

if your site is going to have many pages with a consistant layout, def. learn css, its not hard at all.

then instead of making changes on each page, you just change things in the CSS, ok thats a shit explanation.

of course your going to need to learn an imaging program for optimizing/resizing photos, developing a logo and graphics, buttons, etc.

for that you can learn adobe photoshop/imageready, OR macromedia fireworks. fireworks is like a combo of both photoshop and imageready.... however i still think if you have some artistic talent the adobe products are superior.

however ive used them for 11 years so im biased.

i would suggest learning all that shit instead of using frontpage or some other shitty program.

dreamweaver writes flawless html code unlike microsoft crapola, and flawless html code will have no problems beign viewed in non IE browsers.


PLUS!!! if you have any artistic talent, you can then actually do some side biz developing websites for others.
