Where is our Lobbyist???

For years I have wondered why we do not have a lobbyist or several for that matter. I do believe we can make steroids legal again in the US if we had people lobbying for us. I wonder how much this would cost? Im sure we have some millionaires who frequent this board who are avid bodybuilders.

Rick Collins seems to be the best we can offer and he is a great lawyer.

It really is "all about the money," Kevin Trudeau mentions this several time in his Natural Cures book. Its sad how the US has allowed big money and corporations to take away the voice of the people. This has been going on since the Sherman anti trust laws went away in 1880. But really seemed to take off after 1981. Dont mean to give a history lesson here

Dont Say Never! U think there was not negative press about alcohol? the gun runners, moonshine stills, mob control... prohibition era was pretty fierce! They even added an amendment to the constitution! Do u have any idea how difficult that is? There have only been 27 ammendments (additions to) the constitution since 1776! One of them, the 13th passed in jan. 1919, was Prohibition, the banning of alcohol. Then 15 years, in dec. 1933 the 21st ammendment repealed the prohition act making alcohol legal again. But it was not legal in every state, as states have the right to impose their own laws which are more strict than federal. This is the aim we should be working towards. Steroids are not on the level of alcohol. There were 2, count TWO additions to the Constitiution of the the United States over alcohol consumption! We just need someone to fight for the cause.

Big Byrd is right. Dont say never! You would be amazed what could be accomplished if you had enough lobbyists working in your behalf in Washington. We do need more of a voice though. We are stronger in numbers than what the Pharm companies could ever be.

However, Im sure they would get in on the action as well. Even if it meant selling juice at lower prices they would still make a profit. Even the push towards more anti aging clinics is a step in making hormones more readily available to the public as a whole. You would have never seen those types of businesses years ago.

Al black market would always exist though as it does with most things. Hell look at Ebay. You can buy things on there for 99% off compared to what your local store is selling it for.

Thats a start LEX! The marijuana health debate is a step towards legalizing it. I do still think you will need to get a prescription for it if it does ever come to play but it is a starting point.

The anti aging clinics may help us more than what we think. Why cant someone who is a bodybuilder go in and under a doctors supervision get a prescription for juice? As long as it is monitored and yes you may pay more for it than on the black market but its the whole idea that it can be done legally.

Im sure the anti aging clinics had lobbyists to get them into the mainstream. Although there still do not seem to be a lot of these clinics around even now. I look for that to change as the baby boomers start getting older and still want to hold on to their youthful appearance.

How can we get this thing started? Someone needs to get Rick Collins to chime in. There is something we can do. Im amazed that there has been no lobbying already on the behalf of bodybuilders. Trust me if the pharmaceutical industry knew how much of this untapped market they are missing. It would make the anti aging clinics look like peanuts compared to how many bodybuilders would be getting prescriptions along with doctor monitoring.

Its already in the process in my opinion. Did you ever think you would see children getting Growth Hormone shots because they were small in size?????

I do think we need to put forth a lobbying effort and 2008 would be a great time to start. Im still surprised that there is really no one standing up for us and lobbying on our behalf. We need lobbyists explaining that if done responsibly and under the supervision of a doctor that juice really does not pose any threat at all like it has been hyped up to be.

Get off your asses and register to vote in your state's primary AND the general election (ITS FUCKING EASY TO DO).

After you do that, make sure all of your friends and family who agree with you or dont give a damn, to register to vote as well and go with them to motivate them to vote.

i would just like to ask the people in charge that decided to spend all that money and time to indite 124 people, if there wasnt a more important "war on drug" that could be fought. that is the bottomline for me. i can understand the dangers of steroids and ug labs and such. but give me a break. i can get my hands on ounces of coke or pounds of weed, or thousands of oxy's or whatever, with just a couple phone calls. someone needs to answer us why that is. i would surely protest or march or lobby or do whatever just to have those type of questions answered.

AAS use is not mainstream enough to get the support like alcohol did. I think this reason alone will prevent it from ever happening. Lets face it, we are a very small minority.

I am sorry to say that i doubt this will ever happen. The best we can ever hope for are the penalties to get reduced to something more manageable. Alot of people are going away for selling or using gear for a long time. In order for this to happen you need some high profile business type of politican to use HGH or AAS without a script.

Or better yet have some politicians son use it or even better sell it without a script and then see what happens. If that politicians son got out of jail with a pass because daddy is a congressman then all hell would break loose. You could legitimatley go to court if you were in trouble and point to that as an example and any good lawyer would be able to use that as ammunition to get you out of trouble.

The only way is for something liek that to happen. For a politician who's son is on themto realize its not as bad as it seems. That or have a former bodybuilder pro, amateur, or local guy get elected and fight for us. Rick collins cant do it. He spoke to congress on the sentencing guidelines. Did that keep congress from raising penalties??? No.

Look at what Arnold Swarzenegger has done, he has turned his back on it. He now speaks out against the use of steriods in the sport.
