Jos A Banks for sure. They ALWAYS have a big sale on certain selections and are high quality with prices far below what you would expect to pay for the quality. They are up to date enough on their styles you wont look like a 70 year old with the shoulder pads etc. They can also set you up with a tailor and mark anything to prepare it for tailor work if you need adjustments outside of a normal fit which bieng a body builder, you probably will need.

To be honest, you're going to look silly in any off the rack clothing, even with some tailoring, if you're built very well. Save some money and find a good deal on custom shirts and blazers at least.

I've been part of numerous threads on this, but please please spend the money on proper tailoring, even at the expense of higher quality clothes.

I swear, noone will notice what brand it is, just that if it fits great, people will be able to tell, and if it looks sloppy people will also be able to tell.

Please don't let them give you ridiculously long sleeves, shirt cuff should show.

Good luck. Don't forget to buy the best shoes you can afford, you cant really afford not to.

true this, if you need custom shirts, they aren't that ridiculous. Depends on how big you are if you can modify an OTR or not. Spend the money to get the sides taken in at the very least if you fit into OTR.

RonJon:

If on a budget, Joseph Banks is hard to beat. I heard a commercial yesterday that a sale on all suites for $199 with the second one for $99. They also have suits where the jacket and pants can be purchased separately so you don't have a 52 Jacket and 48 inch pants.

Having a couple of nice tailored blazers is much more functional than suits for most environs.

I agree with Beta, the absolute number one thing is the tailoring. One of the first splurges I suggest are custom made shirts. I also have a few custom made sportcoats and they make a huge difference versus altering existing sizes if you are pretty large.

Fewer better made garments are the key. BTW I normally wear Zanella slacks. They normally run $275 to $350 in the stores. I have found them brand new with the tags on ebay for less than $75. This only works because I know the brand and style and how they fit already but it may be something to check out.

If you're on a part time salary and need some discount biz attire, check out K&G Mens super store. They don't have a quality on-line selection so you'll have to go to the store, what a concept... Not sure what you need the attire for, so it's hard to give too much advice.

You should buy a navy and a grey suit if you're interviewing. Solid color with no pin stripes or window pane designs...

You can typically buy suits from K&G from $100-$200 each. You can also try Brulington Coat Factory for an inexpensive suit. But with everything, keep in mind, you get what you pay for...

Louis of Boston.. Kidding! Well, kidding unless you're down with paying 3k for a sports jacket. A suite, shirt, tie, shoes and belt in there will cost you close to 10k. You'll look bad ass though!

Seriously, I second the Jos A Banks suggestion. Also, Mens Wharehouse if you have one nearby. BOth are good quality, affordable and the service is generally pretty good.

Thanks so much guys..yea as for the Jos A Banks ...ive been hearing tons of radio commercials ...wasn't sure how quality they were guess this answers that

...thanks everybody for the info..i will go check them out!

ATHLETIC CUT

The only suites I can buy off the rack that fit, are J.C. Penny's 44 short athletic cut, executive series.

As stated before, it's all about the fit. Stick with a wool suit. I have suits that ranged from 150 - 2000 and you wouldn't know the difference. The lining maybe a little more fancy on the expensive ones but it doesn't matter.

I stopped buying expensive suits. I ruin them in travel or I grow out of them. I don't see the need anymore. I spend the money on the shirt and shoes.

Any updates?...It looked like they had some good deals going on at Express. And what brands of button downs..etc.

I was thinkin Cole Haan or Stacey Adams for shoes???

Gotta get pimped for Vegas haha :D

I like men's warehouse & the tailoring come in handy;)

Save up your money until you have a few thousand you're willing to spend on suits. Fly to Hong Kong for like $500. Tailors there will cut you a completely bespoke suit for $2-300 a pop which would run you $3k+ easy in the states or europe.

I like Jos A Bank. Fairly nice and inexpensive.

i agree with this post. they always are running sales as well. during fathers day it was buy one shirt get a second free, and during the time the highschools were having their proms it was buy 1 suit get 2 free. quality is nice, and prices are as well.

or use one of the many hong kong traveling tailors, much easier

there is a guy that my buddy uses that does 5 MTM suits, zegna wool, and 10 shirts for 2k...dont know how the hell he does that...sweatshops i guess
