In the last few years, powerlifing has seen some awesome records set by some incredible athletes. You have Ryan Kennely hitting 800.5 on the bench, then 900. Then you have Scott Mendelson hitting 825 at Bench America, now theres talk of a 1000lb. bench press!!! Brent Mikesell has the world record squat at 1074lbs. (im not sure if thats been broken yet). With the advent of ever better training programs, equiptment, drugs, and genetic freaks, we could expect some sick records to be put up in the near future. But where does it all end? Obiously no human will ever be able to, lets say, Squat 5000lbs. or Bench 2 tons.
So where do you think is the limit for the three lifts?

Rychlak has nailed the 900 mark in the bench and Mikesell I think did 1124 in the squat. I don't think a 1000 pound bench is impossible. It may take a few years to get to it and it will most likely be a guy that you haven't heard of yet. In the bench you don't see the same guy hit the big mile markers back to back. Pat Casey (I think) 600 marker, Ted Arcidi 700, Debatable 800, Rychlak 900.
