Outside of all the books that would be updated every few years (ARG, WAR, Llewellyn's book, etc) having the forums and making frequent trips to Mexico were the only way to know if your gear was fake or real. We all had that shit down to a science identifying fakes and counterfeits down in Mexico, lol!!!

There was no better period for these forums than during those first years of the message board forums because we were all learning, and things were always up in the air with changes going on. Everything was new and cutting edge. It was like that all the way through the early 2000's, imo. Once UGL's came along nobody had to worry about whether their Mexican gear or international orders were faked/bunk. Quality of UGL's have come a long way though in themselves.

Also, you had the who's who on those forums and you never knew who you were talking to, both good and bad.

ProM is probably the last forum with both a newer feel, but still with a splash of old school to it. It's really hard to explain those forums back in the day unless you were actually a part of them.

That shit was so annoying. You could tell by the sounds of it loading if you got a good connection speed. If it was off, i'd just reload and wait again rather than deal with super slow pages loaded with every click, lol.

those forums made you feel like the future was all yours to grab.... like anything was possible. as if all the secrets of the bodybuilding universe were yours to unravel...it was a really really crazy time. i miss it!

my how the internet has changed before our eyes... this look downright prehistoric by todays standards.... yet ... i find myself wishing these days were still here.... the old cold fusion type forums... such good times... wild west of the internet.

Yeah, I remember those days very well! The UG, then Renegade, then Big A changed it to Professional Muscle. It was always exciting to me. Tons of great folks on those boards. It was a lot of fun and I like seeing all the names of people I interacted with over the years. I am still around and check in fairly often. I don’t post anymore, but, as you know, I still make orders!

Paper Bolics is what I always associated with RediCat. Not sure if there was another name before.

Good time though. Today we have near Amazon service and scope of availability. Quality real testing keeps most honest. Homebrew, domestic powders. Fricking crazy. 90s were so rediculously hard and expensive. People still fuck it up but with half a brain it can be cheap and reliable.

"YOU'RE NOT READY FOR AAS" no matter who asked for cycle advice lol. Also everyone would lose their mind if someone didn't post their pct with every single post lol

There was also a guy named Bladen who pretended to be a young up and coming ifbb pro who would be an asshole to everyone on the board, people would worship him, and then he got exposed as a fraud. That was some fun drama to watch from a distance

DUDE! I was just going to ask if anyone was around for the steroid section at bodybuilding . com. That was hilarious over there. I have like 10,000+ posts and almost all was from that time in the steroid section from like 2004-2007. That place was wild before it went mainstream.

Yea, it was a tough crowd. I think the early 2000's and onward, for a few years, it got really popular, and you had everybody from everywhere posting there that it had a lot of egos, vested interests and childish members altogether on it. When I went back to the forums around that period, I did not post very much on the AAS forum, as there was nothing new really being posted. Good threads would come up, like all sites, but there was a lot of generic questions. I posted mainly on the diet, supplement and women's forum for a few years, mostly. It's how i got to know a lot of good people, such as @micro2000 during that period. Those were pretty good forums there at the time. Wilson6 who used to post there is now on TID, and a few others.

All the Mexico guys sourcing at that time were posting on the AAS forum, as well as other sources. Sourcing was not allowed, but you could read between the lines. Therefore, I kept an eye on all that. It was much different during that period than now (as you know). Duchaine only posted there in the last half of the 90's, like 96-98'ish. He was posting on the open forum under an alias name, but another member gave his name out and he stopped posting openly. They had their private forum, and he posted there for a few years. He had to be careful due to his legal issues.

I know in 1999, it was shut down for a good while due to some hackers. It kind of restarted over in 2000. I think it was 1998 when Hulkster did his reverse Guam scam.

Yea, a lot of that came from E2. He was a good guy, mostly cranky, but he was a good guy. I was a Mod with him over at AF. He lived up in Canada, and I think it was 03/04 he got into a bad motorcycle accident and stop posting like he had for many years. He was the first guy I knew who did really high doses (he was a Mod at EF before AF). I think he was doing something like 1800-2g of Tren Ace + test + like 2 grams of Eq at one point. A lot of the larger cycles were created after him, like you listed. It was usually like 750-1g+ test + 600mg Deca + 40-60mg dbol cycles. I'm off some, but each year they got higher and higher. lol. He and 2Thick used to go at one another....low vs high doses, lol. Also test vs Deca debates, lol. I always wondered what happened to him.

Yea, I believe he also lived in Canada. He went to Iron Trybe after EF, and was a Mod there for a few years before he went MIA.

Mustrang18 dropped in over at WCBB for a while a few years back. He was here too I think. Guy is solid.

BigPapaPump has still been around at a few sites.

Wilson6 was a Mod on the EF female forum and also Iron Trybe and AF for a while. He used a different name prior to that. He posts now at TID.

I was in contact with THE RANGER up until a few years back....well....no, it's been a while now. He posted at AFboard here and there, wrote another book, and I have not seen him in a long while. he did a lot for veterans. Damn good guy.

FitnessChick and IronGod I was good e-friends with. They both moved to Florida. She stopped competing in like 2005 from BB'ing, then did some powerlifting. She was good at both. She and IG had kids, and she became a mama and has just concentrated on that. I think IG just did a powerlifting meet not long ago. I need to get back in contact with them now that I think about it.

Warlobo was busted a few times. He was actually a good guy. I hope he is well. He was a MOD at EF, AF, Iron Trybe, and also Renegade.

I talk to Sassy all the time on FB.

NubianBeauty I was good friends with. I talked to her on the phone a few times. Was a Mod with her at a few places. She got herself in trouble at some forums when her boyfriend scammed a lot of vets. I think he posted under The Answer or something like that. She left him after or during all that. She was having some health problems last i talked to her. She was a good friend to me, I hope she is well.

It's funny because if anybody remembers that guy FONZ who was a mod at EF, and was SUPER cocky, he got himself in trouble not being able to send 'stuff' to a few guys, then he didn't have the funds to pay them back. He got in over his head. Ulter paid those guys off for him and saved his name. He eventually went MIA. However, years later, he popped up under a different name at AFboard and was like a completely different person than he was prior, like a complete 180 difference. I would have never known it was him had he not used the same avi and a few other things. Blew my mind.

There are a other guys like Makavelli and Fukkenshredded who I lost contact with.

I'm missing a lot of guys above, but it could get super long, LOL!!!
