a combo exercise

last nite i experimented with combining 2 exercises into 1. i set up on the smith machine as if to do a squat. i got under the bar and released the wt holding it low on my traps, standing up on the balls of my feet as if doing a standing calve press. i then went down till my ass hit my calves still arched on the balls of my feet, thus pushing my knees slightly forward as if i was doing a sissy squat, waiting 2 seconds, then proceeded upward to the calve press stance. after about 10 reps and 3 sets my teardrop was pump as well as my calves. walking across the floor my leggs felt very weak. i had also done about 4sets of legg press and 3 sets of leg extensions before this , but it was the last exercise that weakend me. it was hard going up my front steps at home and today the teardrop is sore as well as my calves.
has anyone else combined 2 exercises together and got some good results?
 
A lot of athletes train using combos... I've seen several basketball players use the Squat/Calf raise... Also seen a lot of dumbell clean/jerk presses. Similar to Kettle Bells.

well to be honest im not quite sure if combining those 2 exercices is that benificial , but i do syncronize biceps and triceps , i do 1 set of bis into 1 set of tris this will expand the facia in yo arm for sure.
 
well vander like i said i was just experimenting and i did not push myself withit as i was a little taxx from my regular legg workout. it did however pull my muscles i guess more of a stretching type . i usually donot go to my ass/calves when i do squats and i get a good burn doing calves on the legg press since the calve machine does not go heavy enough. i may do them again and keep a journal about this. like measurements and feelings after doing it. i like trying new things...

i did do a rope curl on the cable machine with my palms facing each other like a close grip. and when i got to the top of the curl i would turn my plams outso they would be facing down . it was like doing a hammer curl yet when i turned them out it hit my lower bicep and my fore arms at the same time.
