This is my leg day training partner Terry.
He's 46 years old, and a lifetime natural. This is his first year competing in bodybuilding, and he's already won 3 overalls.
He finally told me what his precontest diet is yesterday:
breakfast: 1 pack of oatmeal, 1 scoop of Optimum whey
mid morning: 1 scoop of Optimum whey in water
lunch: chicken breast and sweet potato (amount unspecified, I doubt he measures it)
mid afternoon: 1 scoop of Optimum whey in water
dinner: same as lunch
What is that, a grand total of 150-200 grams protein? Maybe 100 grams carbs? And very low fat? I'd look like PeeWee Herman on that diet.
And he does no cardio at all. Just trains with weights 5 days a week.
In the offseason he says he doesn't eat as much as he currently does. "Maybe 2 meals a day" he said with a grin.
Kind of puts the genetics thing in perspective, don't it?
