Wellbutrin never affected my libido....but definitely made it difficult to always stay hard. Big no no for me. My wife has ten times the libido I ever will

Do the

So the sleepy feeling wears off as mentioned above.
Either it wears off or you just get used to it after a while, I'm not sure. Either way, it doesn't hinder you like it does in the beginning when just starting it. Definitely not a reason not to take it.

Boredstiff was also correct in that the higher the dosage, the less sedative it becomes.

I'm not going to lie, I think for anxiety and depression the SRI's are a bit better than Mirtazapine but they almost always come with more and harsher side effects as well. Especially the sexual ones which are very frustrating for a man.

I was on SRI's (basically been on all of them) for years and wasted years of good sex because of it. Since I need to be on an AD for life, this just wasn't acceptable any longer so I decided to switch to the slightly less efficient but basically side effect free Mirtazapine instead.

It's an underused AD imo.

With SRI's I've found it's not the libido part that's the problem but the anorgasmia. It can take forever to climax and for some people it's even impossible entirely. Also, I found the sensation in my dick was reduced, just overall less feeling.

But like I said in my previous post, they are great drugs that work very well and if it weren't for the sexual sides, I would still be on one for sure.

Of course if you don't have any of the sexual sides, that's ideal but from everything I've read throughout the years that's rare. (Not implying you're lying just to be clear, you may well be one of the rare cases)

I just want to add my 2c

lithium orotate is OTC and worked better (for me) than: xanax, prozac, ativan, klonopin, zoloft , propranolol and god knows what else I was prescribed in my early 20s. When I heard lithium I immediately thought fuck that - thats what kurt cobain and the other cats were prescribed , but this is elemental lithium, read the reviews across amazon etc on all brands they are captivating and convincing. Reviews like "this gave me my life and family back" Not just "I feel better" Remember your doc does not reach that part of tier quota for drug company unless you stay on their drug that he happily prescribes.

for my bipolar and ptsd, anxiety is stepchild of ptsd for me that never goes away. Lithium orotate is CHEAP and there are studies in various towns across america where the suicide rate amongst other things is way lower due to higher traces of lithium in the tap water, one was in texas

some of the drugs I mentioned caused me sickening nausea, prozac and zoloft especially . I hope you find healing.

SSRIS mute people's personalities and identities. They dampen peoples light. My ex was on lexapro, it seemed to help her, she did not experience nausea

Guys just keep in mind that Lithium of any sort will have an effect on the kidneys...I'm sure the dose and duration play a big role in that.

I currently take 30 mgs buspar morning and night and 50 mgs of trazadone before bed
Do you take anything for those "emergency" type situations where out of the blue that anxiety attack just shows its ugly head?

Zoloft gave me non stop tremors and made me feel like I wanted to kill myself

That’s the thing with ssri’s... What works phenomenal for one person won’t work for another. It’s a trial and error basically. For folks that have severe anxiety it’s not your fault. Seek help and start living again!!!!!! Why mental health is viewed by some as a weakness is beyond me. Lose the stigma and seek treatment. You’ll be thankful you did!!!!!

I had sensitivity issues with my Johnson before getting on ssri’s. First time I got laid at the tender age of 15 it took me 25 minutes to get off. When all my boys blew in 3 min or less. I called it my curse because I never could have a quickie.

Now being on Zoloft I probably only climax once every 6x having sex. My wife usually throws in the towel after 40min. And she’s a trooper too cause she gets off super easy. So in that 40min she averages 20-30 orgasms easily. She usually is a shaking jello’y mess by the time she quits. I don’t know how she manages because after I blow I can’t even touch my own Johnson for several minutes afterwards let alone keep on pumping away! I’ll throw in a disclaimer here that it does cause the wifey to think I don’t love her as much because I can’t finish all the time. So you’ll have to deal with those issues as they come along.

But, I’m okay with the lack of cumming if it means I can live a normal life!!!!

As yet for whatever reason ive never been able to convince a doctor that it’s serious enough to require Ativan or something similar and I haven’t seen any sort of physchologist yet. I know I really should, but again my anxiety is especially bad when having to schedule appointments or tell anyone how I’m feeling

I suffered the EXACT same issue that you described except for actually throwing up. I’d have the nauseous feeling though because of my nerves.. It got to the point where I couldn’t go out to eat. If I tried to take a drink it was like my throat closed and I couldn’t even swallow. The same went for food. I’d barely eat anything and then people start asking questions. Like you aren’t hungry, is something wrong with the food, etc etc?

Like you I finally sought help for the anxiety issues. I tried Prozac first but it made me super sleepy. The next one I tried was Zoloft at 50mg daily. Helped probably 75%. So the doc upped my dose to 100mg daily. I’m probably 95% better. And if I kno I’ll be I crowded areas in advance I’m also prescribed Xanax. I take a 1mg tab along with my daily 100mg of Zoloft and I got my life back!

I feel your pain bro! People that don’t suffer from severe anxiety have no clue. I always recommend Zoloft since it’s what worked for me! I wish you well my man!

I didn't wanna believe it. I was seriously one of those people who thought others were being dramatic and weird.

I take citolopram for daily use. I'm scripted lorazepam for those "emergency" type, all if a sudden anxiety attacks.

The Lorazepam is only .5mg, seems to not work for me. My doctor said to take 4 tabs now when attacks start. I feel this meds does not help, actually don't feel anything from it.
I had this muscle relaxant that was scripted to me when I ended up in the ER. Can't remember the name, that one was good. It squashed my anxiety, no grogginess or zombie like feeling. I'm going to ask my doctor for it at my next tele-med.
Have you tried anything over the counter/natural that works?

I’ve tried pretty much all the over the counters I know of without any help. I did try lithium prorate low dose for like a week once but it was a crazy time for me and I just never remembered to take them or give it an honest try so I don’t know if it would have helped. Might have to look into it again

I was originally prescribed cymbalta 4 years ago. My wife and my mom both swear by it so I tried it. It made me feel like I had just taken meth. I was nauseous, trembling was horrible, I felt like I had a bucket of foam in my stomach, couldn’t sleep and was so anxious. I swore of Ssris after that. Two years later I was involved in a situation where multiple people were killed and I was very lucky to have not been one of them. My doctor again prescribed me an ssri, lexapro. Once again I had all the before mentioned side effects. He then gave me trazodone, that shit made me a zombie. After struggling with a lot of different drugs and changing doctors I was prescribed Zoloft and bam.... no side effects and felt right as rain. Noticed gear side effects are way better as well. Only anxiety I have now is running out of the stuff. I know a bunch of people above have said Zoloft was horrible for them. I honestly think different peoples brain chemistry react differently to each drug. Good luck.

I've been on the mentioned Mirtazapine for a long time, along with a couple of other ADs. It might be a good one if nausea is a problem. The anorgasmia from SRI's is annoying but when I've tired of it I take a "drug holiday," skip a day of meds. This is enough for the anorgasmia effect to lessen dramatically, though a few more days is even better. But then that might not be good for your psyche. I did read about psychs recommending drug holidays every now and then for various reasons.
Often Wellbutrin is added on to SRI's to fix the anorgasmia but it doesn't work for me.

Anyway, a friend just told me about his problems. Last summer he was overworked and stressed and started having crazy palpitations and a feeling of the walls closing in when he went to bed. He tried going on a walks for a few hours in the middle of night, even took a sleeping bag out to the bushes outside his apartment complex lol, but nothing was helping. A well known bb and a former big time steroid dealer gave him a few mirtazapine and my friend claimed it worked like a charm from the first dose, fixed everything! Now he only took it on a as-needed basis, one pill when he feels the panic setting in. I don't know, but that's what he said, if it's placebo, who cares. Lol.

One of it's many uses is pre-surgery to calm down patients before the procedure so I wouldn't be surprised if it worked on an as needed basis as well.

I've posted this in the proper section, yet haven't received anything. Hopefully y'all can help.

Okay so I've finally started taking a medication for my anxiety (lexapro)
I have a few questions after my ranting story...

Well for starters everytime I'm around people or in a vehicle (feeling trapped) I make sure I don't eat or drink anything. Yes...this means it's hard for me to go out to eat. After I eat, or even have a drink I'm worried that I'm gonna puke. The worry gets so bad that I feel like I need to puke. I don't feel sickly but the urge is desperate. I end up throwing up most of my lunch at the restaurant bathroom or outside of the car. It's a quick feeling of nausea that doesn't feel like I'm sick. It's very hard to explain. When an issue happens I try to chew gum or use a natural vix inhaler. Some times it works to temporarily stop me from puking. It seems when I get worried, my nose feels slightly congested. All this ends up making me wanna puke. I eat the same foods at home...and I'm completely fine. Therefore I usually have take out if going to a restaurant. Even if I eat and walk around outside I'm fine. It's me feeling I'm around people or trapped, and will embarrass myself that causes the odd feeling to vomit. Obviously I can't eat pre-work...or even drink pre-work out lol. Even water at the gym can cause any issue if I drink a whole shaker. In addition lol... I've always been sensitive to gross things like even the sound of someone hocking a loogie. All my siblings (and my dad) is this way.

So anyway...my doctor prescribed me lexapro for anxiety. It's only been two weeks and I'm even more nauseous now all day. I'm told that's normal but I've also read that too much serotonin causes nausea. So my questions...

1. Am I potentially making myself worse off by taking an ssri for anxiety related nausea?

2. Is there a better med for this type of anxiety related nausea?

I've posted many posts over the years thinking my constant nausea was related to aas, or allergies to food. With every change I get no where. The only time I get sick in my house, it's because I wonder if I ate too much, and will I puke. I end up pukeing because of the worry.

Help!
I use to be like that too years ago.I couldn't go out to eat and get so nervous because one spoon of food would make me feel so nauseas. And a weird feeling inside. I wouldn't throw up but I put my fingers down my throat to throw up.by throwing up it would help with the nervousness and shaking. I thought I was going crazy.this would go on for days and weeks straight.even at home I was constantly making myself throw up. I was even considering suicide because I couldn't see myself feeling that way every day.I didn't know what anxiety and panic attacks was back then.never heard of it.I thought it had to do with me getting off my cycle cold turkey and didn't know about pct.so long story short after reading and researching myself because doctors kept telling me all test came back normal and it was all in my head.I learned about anxiety. I got put on 2mg of Xanax a day.and never in my life has that happened again.NEVER .I now usually take half of it because 2mg makes me too sleepy. Xanaxakes me extremely hungry worse than weed and of course I can't smoke that shit. Because I go into tremendous anxiety attacks immediately. But when I first started on the Xanax. I use to fall asleep eating my food.I love eating in bed at night.my wife use to take pictures of me and video lol dead asleep with the plate on my chest and food all over my face, mouth, ears, pillow. It was funny at the time.its been years though that doesn't happen to me anymore. But I do get extremely hungry on it.and it's the best for those anxiety attacks or panic attack that comes on out of nowhere. I could be normal and talking and all a sudden bam .I just pop one and 5 minutes I'm in heaven and thanking God I'm feeling normal.I can't even think or talk about anxiety because it brings on an attack

Let me add my mother in law had a bout where she temporarily lost her mind and was hospitalized for few weeks in the psych ward.when she went home they gave her few meds which she got off them and is perfectly normal person. But one of them was mirtazapine. I decided to try it for anxiety since she was not using it.first day I took 15mg I felt so angry inside like I've never have before not even on the worst aas.I had no anxiety but I was so angry for no reason. I was screaming at my wife for no reason and really loud too. And I'm totally opposite person so this was super weird. I went to the gym and for no reason started screaming at my girl friend to the point she was balling in tears.so the next day I took one again and took my dog for a walk like always so he can poop.again the anger was so bad I was screaming at my dog at the top of my lungs will you shit already you fucking dog.and felt like kicking him repeatedly like if I was in a brawl. OF COURSE I DID DO IT. That's my baby boy my best friend.at that point I realized it had to be the mirtazapine.I Google it and read it can cause agitation and make you angry. I've never touched that crap again.I apologize to my wife and my girl friend and explained to them what had caused me to react like that.that goes to show you not everyone reacts the same to every drug
